Objective By investigation of psychological status of day surgery patients, we analyze the causes of anxiety and medical coping modes so as to provide theory for the clinic workers to offer specific psychological care and to help the day surgery operation patients.Method The thesis used convenience sampling, State Anxiety Inventory (S-AI), Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ) and questionnaires made by ourselves and investigated 200 preoperative patients’ psychological status in day surgery room. Method of questionnaires and analysis of data:When the questionnaire was finished, we settled the file. When two persons checked the original data, we created database by Epidata3.1 and analyzed the data with SPSS17.0. Our statistical methods included description, t-test, Analysis of variance, correlation analysis, etc. We described patients’basic information, degree of anxiety and coping modes with frequency, percentage, average value and standard deviation in descriptive statistical methods. And we analyzed influencing factors of the preoperative patients’ psychological status with t-test and gradual multivariate regression analysis.Result 1. The mainly behavior of patients’psychological status is that they suffered higher anxiety than normal. Their S-AI is 44.86±7.94, which is higher than national norm (P<0.01).2. The facts that affected anxiety included many aspects, mainly in age and family relationship.3. We found by medical coping modes that the main factor is "resignation" coping mode and that preoperative anxiety and "resignation" coping mode had positive relationship.4. The day surgery patients’got lower grades in "facing" and "avoiding" medical coping mode and higher grades in "surrendering" than norm, which has statistical significance. (P<0.01)Conclusion Patients’ psychological condition in day surgery room is influenced by various facts; nurses should assess the physiological and psychological status of the preoperative patients and adopted methods from various aspects so as to guide the patients to take positive actions effectively and to recover sooner, which will also lead to higher degree of satisfaction.
