HuoXiangZhengQiSan is a damp-drying and stomach-regulating representative prescription, mainly used to treat wind-cold and internal humidity hysteresis syndrome. Other than decoction, there are also many prescription formulations. The prescription is widely used clinically, well known in Singapore families, commonly used for diarrhea treatment. To illustrate the method for clinical use, this research collects and sorts out the related clinical research, under the guidance of TCM theory, use statistical analysis to carry out the preliminary research with the intent to improve the rational use of drugs clinically and achieve better outcomes.Research method:Collects the recent 30 years of published journals and articles related to the clinical treatment of HuoXiangZhengQiSan prescription, selects the suitable articles, processes the data collected, classifies based on TCM disease, western medical disease, gender, age, onset seasons, pathogenesis, syndrome type, symptoms, tongue condition, pulse condition, herb name, dosage, medicament application, adverse reactions method, etc. Perform a statistical analysis based on keyword classification and frequency count for each of the category. Referencing the statistical results, apply the TCM theory, analyse and explore the law of clinical application of the HuoXiangZhengQiSan prescription.The research concludes that HuoXiangZhengQiSan achieved a 95% of total effective rate, of which,40% showed significant improvement and full recovery. take up 40%. The gender ratio of the patients is 2 male to 3 female,90% of the patients were below 6 years old, the peak onset season is Autumn, Gastrointestinal diseases take the lead, there are about 2/3 of the patients have diarrhea symptoms. Diarrhea and vomiting were the primary symptoms; pyrexia, abdominal distension and pain, and nausea were the secondary symptoms; headache, loss of appetite, aversion to cold, blocked nose, chest discomfort, body aches, cough, borborygmus, tasteless, etc were the guiding symptoms, tongue and pulse conditions were mainly pale or pink tongue with thick white or just white coating, relaxed soft pulse, soft pulse or floating pulse. Pathogenesis characteristics of syndrome were humidity hysteresis blockage, accompanied with external constriction of wind chill. Exterior-interior concurrent disease mainly focuses on interior-syndromes. The disease location focuses on the spleen and stomach, damp pathogen is the main cause to the disease. Clinically, it is commonly used for treatment of exogenous and endogenous severe syndrome or acute exogenous with interior weakness syndrome. The illness may portray as interior syndrome or exterior-interior concurrent syndrome. Though the clinical application of HuoXiangZhengQiSan continues to advance and extends to the various specialities, namely, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology, Dermatology diseases, the treatment of the TCM syndrome does not show much variation. On clinical decoction, the top three categories of the herbs that are most commonly added to the prescription are clearing damp and promoting diuresis drug, damp-clearing drug and aid-digestion drug, single herb such as plantain seed, alisma orientale, amomum cardamomum, rhizoma atractylodis, maticated leaven and hawthorn etc; commonly eliminated herbs are date, ginger and balloon flower; The herbs dosage is commonly larger than the original prescription formula as the usage mainly follows the recommended dosage instead of the original prescription formula dosage ratio. The liquid formulary of HuoXiangZhengQiSan is most commonly used, adverse reaction is mainly due to the alcoholature. There are four administration route, oral administration is mainly in use.
