To provide Morphological basis and exotrica support for the operation andintraoperative position of crus bariatric surgery by carefully dissecting popliteal fossa andposterior crural region of the bodies and measuring with an ultrasonic flaw detector on livingpersons. Methods Lower legs from18embalmed cadavers and2fresh corpses were dissectedto explore the origin, Longitudinal distance of and the space relation between the fourbranches given outfrom the tibial nerve in the popliteal fossa and the longness, breadth andthickness of the triceps surae muscle. In porpose of obtaining precise data,we use anultrasonic flaw detector to measure the thickness of the soleus muscle and gastrocnemiusmuscle of50adult volunteers. Results Anatomic results of the lower legs from the bodiesshowed that the tibial nerve in the popliteal fossa gave off four nerve branches in aproximal-to-distal direction: the medial sural cutaneous nerve, the motor branches to themedial and lateral heads of the gastrocnemius muscle and the motor branch to the soleus, and, they performed uniquely. Besides, significant findings were that the nerve to the soleusmuscle has two branches. Ultrasound survey results showed that the calf girth is positivelyrelated to the thickness of the soleus muscle and gastrocnemius muscle. Conclusion Crusobesity is primarily caused by muscle hypertrophy. So, we believe a selective neurectomytechnique can be an effective method for treating obese calves. These results aremorphological basis, which can provide help for clinic.
