Objective:1. The aims of this study were to evaluate the prevalence and progress of metabolicsyndrome of people over65years old in Kangjian community.2. Analyze the risk factors of metabolic syndrome and evaluate the significance ofdifferent combinations of the positive components in the progress of metabolic syndrome.3. To explore the key population to intervention of metabolic syndrome.Methods:1. The baseline group included4228people over the age of65who participated in thehealth examination in2009-2012,and1217of them who participated in the second and/orthird examination constituted the control group.2. All subjects accepted a medical examination for height, weight, blood pressure.Calculation of the body mass index (BMI) was made according to the following formula:BMI=weight/height2(kg/m2). Fasting serum levels of glucose, lipid, uric acid, liverfunction, renal function were estimated. The diagnosis of metabolic syndrome according tothe recommended standard of CDS in2004.3. SPSS19software was used for statistical analysis. Measurement data are expressedas mean±SD;count data are expressed as proportion or rate. Analysis of variance orStudent’s t test were used to analyse the difference between groups in continuousvariables. As the reference of0component, analyzed the relative risk and the95%confidence interval (95%CI) of progress for the metabolic syndrome of groups withdifferent components of positive. All tests were two-sided test, inspection level alpha=0.05.Results:1、 The prevalence of metabolic syndrome of people over65years old in Kangjian community was30.13%and the years progress rate was11.39%..The prevalence rates ofmale and female are similar(male:29.92%, female:30.30%).That of the75-79age groupreached a peak of31.05%.2、The annual progression rate of MS is11.39%.3、There were statistical difference between the group who were conversed to MS andnot into MS in the last examination in BMI, systolic blood pressure, diastolic bloodpressure and TG (p<0.05),the UA has significant difference(p<0.01). There wasdifference in the progress rate between the hyperglycemia associated with hypertensiongroup and the obesity associated with hyperlipidemia group(p<0.05).4、Compared with0positive components of MS,the RR of1positive component was3.038and that of2positive components was5.462, the obesity associated withhyperlipidemia group was7.252, the hyperglycemia associated with hypertension groupwas7.150.5、The prevalence of hyperuricemia was20.98%, MS and HUA coexit was6.62%, theprevalence of MS was31.57%in HUA population. The prevalence rate of hyperuricemiahad marginal Statistical significance between groups conversed or not conversed toMS(p=0.056).UA value in the group which conversed to MS growthed and had asignificant difference (p<0.01), UA value in the group which did not conversed to MSgrowthed too but had not a significant difference (p>0.05).Conclusion:1、The prevalence and progress rate of metabolic syndrome of people over65years inKang Jian community are high. The incidence peak age is delayed compared with that often years ago.2、The annual progression rate of MS is as high as11.39%.3、In addition to the MS four single components, hyperglycemia associated withhypertension and obesity associated with hyperlipidemia were important risk factor formetabolic syndrome. The two-component positive population is the key groups for MS prevention andinterventions, especially we should pay attention to the people who suffering fromhyperglycemia and hypertension at the same time or suffering from obesity andhyperlipidemia at the same time. 4、Accompanyed with the occurance and development of MS,UA may play animportant roll.
