The Effects Of Intracameral Cefuroxime In The Prophylaxis Of Postoperative Endophthalmitis After Cataract Surgery,Meta Analysis

Objective To evaluate the the effects of intracameral cefuroxime in the prophylaxis of postoperative endophthalmitis after cataract surgery.Method Firstly, collect articles by searching databases from Pubmed, The Cochrane Library, EMBASE, QVIP, CNKI, Wanfang.Then assess heterogeneity and report bias with the help of Review Manager5.2. Finally, use the software to draw figures and calculate outcomes.Result There are five articles being included in total.By comparing tested group with intracameral cefuroxime at the end of cataract surgery and controlled group without the intervention, the data analysis shows that the intervention can protect against endophthalmitis(OR=0.11;P<0.001;95%confidence interval[CI]0.07-0.18). Conclusion Intracameral cefuroxime can effectively decrease the rate of endophthalmitis after cataract surgery.
