Objective:Lumbar disc herniation is a common and frequently occurring disease in clinic.Ozone therapy for lumbar disc herniation is a new minimally invasive interventionaltherapy, with many advantages including less trauma, less complications, efficientsatisfaction and high security. However, the symptoms and signs such aspostoperative aggravation, lower limbs or lumbago muscle relaxation, interbodydisharmony due to instability of low back pain occasionally been found in clinical.The waist of core strength training can strengthen improve the strength of abdominalmuscle, back muscle and gluteus, alleviate the degree of soft tissue atrophy and badposture, enhance the stability of lumbar spine, relieve pain. In this study, the twomethods were firstly applied in combination, which can complementary advantages,expand the indications, provide methods of diagnosis and treatment, new theoreticalbasis and guidance for clinical rehabilitation.Methods:80patients with lumbar disc herniation in interventional vascular surgical wardof Siping Central People’s Hospital were collected, and were randomly divided intotwo groups,40cases in each group. The patients in the treatment group were treatedwith ozone nucleus pulposus ablation combined with waist core strength training, andthe patients in the control group were treated with ozone only. The lumbar treatmentassessment scale of Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) were used, and thelumbar spine Oswestry disability index (ODI), the visual analogue scale (VAS) weremeasured in two groups. The data were signified with (x±S,and were analyzedusing t-test or χ2test at a significance level of0.05. Results:The JOA score, ODI score and VAS score of the patients in two groups beforetreatment and one week after treatment and one month after treatment and3monthsafter treatment in the two groups were compared. The results show that there were notsignificantly differences in the basic informations including gende (χ2=0.11, P=0.74),age(t=0.85, P=0.40), course of diseas(t=-0.70,P=0.49) of the patients in the twogroups, the differences of JOA score, ODI score and VAS score before treatment andone week after treatment and one month after treatment and after three months in thetwo groups is significant (P <0.05),and there were not significantly differences inJOA score, ODI score and VAS score before treatment and one week after treatment(P>0.05). However, the differences of JOA score, ODI score and VAS score onemonth after treatment in the two groups is significant (P <0.05). After three monthstreatment, there were still significantly differences in JOA score, ODI score in the twogroup (P <0.05), but not in the scores of VAS (P>0.05). The relapse rate after threemonths treatment in the treatment group (5%) was lower than that in the control group(25%)(χ2=5.47, P=0.0193), the difference was significant.Conclusions:The treatment of ozone nucleus pulposus ablation combined with waist corestrength training as well as the pure ozone nucleus pulposus ablation in the treatmentof lumbar disc herniation, can improve the lumbar vertebral function, improve theability of daily life and activities of patients, and can alleviate pain of patients. Whenthe two methods were applied in combination, the therapeutic effect is better than ofthe method by pure ozone nucleus pulposus ablation for treating lumbar discherniation, which can lasted for a long time, good curative effect (especially after3months treatment compared with1month), reduce the recurrence rate.
