Objective: To provide guidance for the use of Chinese patent cold medicine incommunity，we put forward the issue. Taking this opportunity，we can summarize theproblems existing in the application of Chinese patent cold medicine in the community，theexcavation of the traditional community use advantage，the proprietary Chinese medicinein the new mode of community outreach. With this research,not can the proprietaryChinese medicine get more extensive application in the community，such as the chronicdiseases of community，but also play a broader role in prevention and control of majorinfectious diseases，so as to provide better service to the community residents.Method: With consulting relevant experts，we determine the primary symptom ofcold，proprietary Chinese medicine syndrome classification and clinical common cold. Andunder the guidance of experts in TCM syndrome differentiation thinking as the core，wedesign community application promotion cold kind of proprietary Chinese medicinescheme. Scheme should be concise，clear and accurate，and can guarantee the spirit ofTCM syndrome differentiation and treatment，the community physicians and easy to use，and make it fast accurate grasp of basic drugs.In the community to carry out the questionnaire survey，we can understand thecommunity resource allocation situation of traditional Chinese medicine and traditionalusage，and find problems in the traditional application，and puts forward the solution.Results: Through the relevant experts consultation，it is concluded that five of themost common cold symptoms are fever，cold evil，pharyngeal itching sore throat， coughexpectoration，nasal congestion，and runny nose. The most common type is chill cold， the wind hot cold cold type. Clinical commonly used type of proprietary Chinese medicine tocure a common cold soul infusion of catching a cold,cold heat particles,even takeantipyretic capsules. Clear away the spirit pellet，etc.Thorough the community survey,we found that the western medicine physicians areoften drawn proprietary Chinese medicine in the treatment for colds.On the other hand，dueto some physicians do not have relevant professional knowledge of traditional Chinesemedicine,there are many pitfalls in use,bringing out a waste of medical resources andless-conducive to the rehabilitation of patients.Conclusion: Chinese patent cold medicine can be used as the breakthrough point ofthe proprietary Chinese medicine in community. The use of traditional Chinese medicinehas a long history and a broad mass base.It can help community to promote proprietaryChinese medicine and the residents’ health. But in the process of the use of proprietaryChinese medicine，doctors and patients have different degree of kinds of problems. It isneed to strengthen the training of physicians and propaganda education of communityresidents，which can make it right of proprietary Chinese medicine， the rational andobjective. Both see their effectiveness，and do not ignore its side effects.
