Object: Summarize Professor Hou Shuwei’s Experience in the acupuncturetreatment of Facial Paralysis, and through a randomized controlled study, observe theamount of stimulation of acupuncture in peripheral facial paralysis early, middle and latestages of treatment.Methods:60patient in acute period of idiopathic facial paralysis from theAcupuncture Clinics of TCM Hospital of Shandong Province were selected and dividedrandomly into treatment group and control group, each including30patients. Theacupoints of two groups were the same, the amount of stimulation in early, middle, late oftreatment group were different, the amount of stimulation of control group were light stab.In the first days (acute phase), eight days (mid-term),21days (late), the end of treatmentdetermine efficacy.One time a day,6times for one course, observe the nine courses.Results:Fisher exact test displayed the House-Brackmann grading of two groups ofpatients no significant difference in the first eight and the first21days (P>0.05), Wilcoxonrank sum test displayed after the end of treatment there were significant differencesbetween the two groups cure rate (P <0.05), t test showed that the two groups after the endof treatment were statistically significant differences in the number of treatment days (P<0.05).Conclusion:Professor Hou Shuwei acupuncture treatment of peripheral facialparalysis more from staging points points, component of governance, with particularemphasis on the amount of stimulation for each control period.
