Objective:To analyze the differential expression of IL-33and ST2in thechronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps(CRSwNP), allergic rhinitis(AR)with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, bronchial asthma withchronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps and normal nasal mucosa tissues,preliminary discussion on the roles of IL-33and ST2in the developmentand occurrence of nasal polyps, and the possible mechanism of action.Methods:70cases were divided into4groups, CRSwNP group20cases, ARwith CRSwNP group20cases, bronchial asthma with CRSwNP group10cases, control group20cases (line during the same period of the inferiorturbinate resection patients). Use immunohistochemical method to detectthe localization and expression of IL-33and ST2in CRSwNP, AR withCRSwNP and normal nasal mucosa tissues. Collect data from stainingdegree of expression, statistical analysis them with SPSS19.0, and usechi-square test on the above four groups of data.Result:1. The immunohistochemical results show that the IL-33expressionlevel of CRSwNP group, AR with CRSwNP group and bronchial asthmawith CRSwNP group are higher than control group (P<0.05), and the expression level of AR with CRSwNP group and bronchial asthma withCRSwNP group are higher than CRSwNP group (P<0.05), the mean levelof bronchial asthma with CRSwNP group is higher than the mean level ofAR with CRSwNP group, but there is no significant difference (P>0.05).Positive expression of IL-33is mainly located in epithelial cells,cytoplasm of acinar cell, nucleus of inflammatory cells(eosinophils,plasma cells, and neutrophils), the control group only have littleexpression, and express in similar parts.2. ST2expression level ofCRSwNP group, AR with CRSwNP group and bronchial asthma withCRSwNP group are higher than control group (P<0.05), and theexpression level of AR with CRSwNP group and bronchial asthma withCRSwNP group are higher than CRSwNP group (P<0.05), the mean levelof bronchial asthma with CRSwNP group is higher than the mean level ofAR with CRSwNP group, but there is no significant difference (P>0.05).Positive expression of ST2is mainly located in epithelial cells, cytoplasmof acinar cells, nucleus of inflammatory cells, part of the vascularendothelial cells and fibroblasts, the control group only have littleexpression, and express in similar parts.Conclusion:IL-33and its receptor ST2are differently expressed in CRSwNP,AR with CRSwNP, bronchial asthma with CRSwNP and normal nasalmucosa, suggesting that they may play a role in the occurrence of nasal polyps. IL-33and ST2have higher expression in AR with CRSwNPgroup and bronchial asthma with CRSwNP group than the other twogroups, and the mean level of bronchial asthma with CRSwNP group ishigher than the mean level of AR with CRSwNP group, but there is nosignificant difference. Suggesting that IL-33and ST2play an importantrole in the allergic reaction, they may be important common factors foroccurrence and development of these closely related to allergy diseasesCRSwNP, AR with CRSwNP and bronchial asthma with CRSwNP.
