Objective:1.Learn the status quo of core competency of nurses in three level offirst-class Hospitals in Changchun.2. Understand and investigate Changchun city history and the presentsituation of cultivating the ability of emergency department nurses core interms of different ages, different age, different degree, different preparation,different levels and characteristics of the core competence of marital status.3. Analysis the results of the survey, and improve the way of cultivatingthe core ability of emergency department nurses and the suggestion, promotethe quality of nursing service.4. To establish a reasonable nursing training base, improve the tertiarygeneral hospital in Changchun, the ability of emergency department nurses coreservices, improve the quality of nursing service.Methods:We selected a total of190nurses from three level of first-class Hospitalsin Changchun by convenience sampling methods,the application of emergencynurses basic demographic data, core ability reserve of questionnaires,registered nurse core competence scale of self-evaluation of the core ability ofthe examination paper answer to investigate in the past years.“TheCompetency Inventery for Regestered Nurse scale”(CIRN,by Liu Ming) wasdistributed to investigate areas of critical thinking/research aptitude,clinicalcare,leadership, interpersonal relation, legal/ethical practice,professional development,teaching/coaching. The questionnaires were collected with100%in return,of which190were valid ones. And the data was analyzed using thestatistical package of social science (SPSS19.0). Use the form than thepercentage (%), mean, standard deviation of respondents general data analysisand statistical description. With different length, different ages, differenteducational background, different levels of emergency registered nursescompared using analysis of variance of core competence status and inspection;The core competence of the different positions and different degree nursecompares the two sample t test. P values less than0.05is consideredsignificant.Results:1. Changchun five tertiary general hospital in the emergency departmentnurses ability core services survey, The overall score is6.41±0.66in themedium level. Among them, the legal/ethical practice score is6.55±0.64;Interpersonal score is6.44±0.63; Leadership score is6.44±0.63;Theprofessional development score is6.36±0.66; Education/consulting score is6.36±0.71;Clinical nursing score is6.36±0.67mm; Critical thinkingability/research score is6.10±0.69.Each dimension scores from high to low inturn for ethical and legal practice, leadership, interpersonal, professionaldevelopment, clinical care, education and consulting, critical thinking andscientific research ability. Seven dimensions of critical thinking and scientificresearch ability of the lowest average score.2. Nursing core competence from the overall and each dimension score differences were analyzed, and were statistically significant,(P <0.05).Resultshows that the emergency nurses’ core ability of35years old or the highesttotal score, followed by25~34, emergency nurses get the lowest score isunder the age of25, emergency nurses (P <0.05).3. The emergency nurses’ core ability of different nursing age in generaland each dimension score difference comparison, are statistically significant,(P<0.05).Survey results show that the core competence total score from high tolow, in order to protect age "ten years" or "5~10years","<5years" of nursingstaff.4. Statistics and analysis of the general characteristics of the core ability ofemergency nurses in different degree and each dimension score differences,among them, P <0.05, all have statistical significance. Results show that, in thefirst degree, in the comparison of the core ability of bachelor nursing staff notthe lowest total score, is not significantly higher than junior college andtechnical secondary school and nursing staff, under the minimum set oftechnical secondary school. In the highest degree, in the comparison of themaster’s and above nursing core competence the highest total score, issignificantly higher than undergraduate and college and the nursing personnel,college group is the highest.5. Statistics and analysis of core ability of emergency nurses in differentformulation of the overall and each dimension score differences, among them,P <0.05, all have statistical significance. Survey results show that the formalestablishment of emergency nursing staff contract system and the personnel agency emergency nurses’ core ability difference is not big.6. The scores of different titles of emergency nursing core competence ingeneral and each dimension difference were analyzed, P <0.05, Which havestatistical significance. Results showed that deputy director of junior and seniorget the highest total score, the nurse core get lowest total score.Conclusion:Through this topic research, We analyzes the influential elements of thecore ability of emergency nurses, the core ability level differences ofself-evaluation of emergency nurses, to improve the emergency nurses corecompetence evaluation index system, to provide a reference basis, hospitalemergency nurses of emergency department nurses, training and examinationof emergency department nurses provide objective standard, make the humanresources management improving nurses’ core ability the concretecountermeasure, finally can improve the quality of emergency nursing staff,improve quality of care and development play an important role.1. Changchun city level3general hospital emergency department nursescore service ability in the medium level, only can be able to do the currentnursing work, but need to further strengthen and continuous training to improvethe core competence of emergency nurses.2. The core competence of emergency nurses in different age, record offormal schooling, preparation, marital status, age, etc. There is a lot ofdifferences.3. The core competence of emergency nurses in different title of a technical post. The deputy director of junior and senior get the highest totalscore, the nurse core get lowest total score.4. With the increase of age, in the nurses’ core ability, critical thinking andscientific research ability, leadership, interpersonal, professional development,education and consulting skills gradually increased. Including protection of agein the following10years emergency nurse score is lower, more than a decadeof emergency nurses scored higher.5. With the increasing of the education level, in the nurses’ core ability,critical thinking and scientific research ability, leadership, interpersonal,professional development, education and consulting skills in graduallyincreased. Results show that, in the first degree, in the comparison of the coreability of bachelor nursing staff the highest total score, is significantly higherthan junior college and technical secondary school and nursing staff, under theminimum set of technical secondary school. In the highest degree, in thecomparison of the master’s and above nurses’ core ability the highest total score,is significantly higher than undergraduate and college and the nursing staff, thelowest is college group (P <0.05).
