ObjectivesThe data of syphilis in the hospital for infectious diseases of Henan Province from January2009to December2013were collected, to analyze its epidemiological characteristics and incidence trends, detect high-risk group and high incidence area timely, and exposure to risk factors for syphilis in patients with HIV infection epidemiological characteristics. The study helps the control of syphilis, HIV prevalence and decision-making to provide a theoretical reference.Methods1. To collect syphilis data and cases investigation of syphilis the hospital for infectious diseases of Henan Province from January2009to December2013, including cases of syphilis cases questionnaire, questionnaire included:name, date of birth, sex, occupation, ethnicity, education level, marital status, non-marital heterosexual contact history, history of behavior among men, spouse/fixed positive history of sexual partners, injection drug use history, mothers of children with a positive history of blood transfusion/blood products/plasma collected content history.2. Using descriptive epidemiology to analyze distribution of the three cases, exposure to risk factors for syphilis and infectious disease hospital in Henan epidemiological characteristics of patients with HIV infection descriptive analysis. The data were collated through Excel2013and SPSS13.0statistical analysis. Classification data were analyzed using χ2test, and P<0.05was considered statistically significant.ResultsLA total of7268subjects were detect for syphilis antibodies during2009and2013, and3146cases were positive, the positive rate was43.29%, including1358cases of male and female1788cases. The number of diagnosed cases was increasing year by year. Ⅰ syphilis were380cases, accounting for12.08%of all cases; Ⅱ syphilis508cases, accounting for16.15%; Ⅲ syphilis49cases, accounting for1.56%; congenital syphilis303cases, accounting for9.63%; and latent syphilis1906cases, accounting 60.58%.2.113cases are outside of Henan Province, accounting for3.60%; main cases are from different areas of Henan Province, accounting for96.40%. The top ten sources are:Zhengzhou City, Xuchang City, Zhoukou City, Shangqiu City, Zhumadian, Pingdingshan, Kaifeng, Nanyang, Ying Yang and Xinxiang.3. Among the3146cases of syphilis patients,303cases were transmission from mother to child:Minimum age is two days, and the oldest is11years old.20to39years old age group accounted for52.25%; syphilis occupation constitute was to farmers and unemployed, accounting for55.94%; education and vocational are high school and junior high school, accounted for31.31%and41.61%; marriage accounted for73.36%.64.18%of the patients had non-marital heterosexual contact history.4. Among the1268cases of syphilis, HIV-positive patients had274cases, and the positive rate was21,61%. Different gender, age, occupation, education level, and clinical stage of syphilis patients with HTV infection were statistically different (P <0.0001).116cases of syphilis who have the sex history of men and men were infected HIV, HIV infection rates was up to73.28%;483cases of syphilis were by blood transfusion/blood products/apheresis plasma history and HIV-positive rate was40.99%. Injecting drug history of patients with HIV infection syphilis is31.58%. Exposed to syphilis patients with different factors of HIV infection was significantly (P<0.0001).ConclusionsThe number of syphilis cases diagnosed are increasing year by year. The congenital syphilis should be paid more attention to except for sexual transmission. Syphilis patients with HIV infection rate was high. With the sexual transmission of HIV infection epidemic in China. It is important to monitor closely syphilis and HIV co-infection prevalence.
