Objective:This study investigated the apolipoprotein E(APOE)genotypes and allelefrequency distribution in South Anhui Han population, analysed the relationshipbetween the apolipoprotein E(APOE)gene polymorphism and the dose for warfarinmaintenance. Methods:A total of196cases with warfarin treatment in maintenance dose and100cases of healthy South Anhui Han population. The polymorphisms of APOE wasdetected using PCR-direct sequencing method. They were divided into three groups,Group ε2(ε2/ε2,ε2/ε3),group ε3(ε3/ε3),group ε4(ε4/ε4,ε3/ε4),respectively.The dosesfor warfarin maintenance were compared among patients with different genotype. Results:In the total of196patients,the APOE allele frequencies were:E3/E3in142cases(72.4%),E3/E4in27cases(13.8%),E2/E3in20cases(10.2%),E2/E2and E4/E4in3cases(1.53%),E2/E4in1case(0.51%),respectively;the allelefrequencies of ε2, ε3, ε4were6.89%,84.44%,8.67%,respectively.The warfarin dose ofgroup ε3was (3.23±0.92)mg/d,slightly higher than that of group ε2(3.13±0.86mg/d)or group ε4(3.05±0.60mg/d),but difference of the warfarin dose among the3groupsdid not statistical significance(F=0.620,P>0.05).Conclusion:This study obtained the apolipoprotein E(APOE)genotypes and allelefrequency distribution in South Anhui Han population.APOE polymorphism may be not a major genetic factor that influences the individual dose for warfarin maintenance.
