Objective:To investigate the effects of intravenous flurbiprofen axetil and fentanyl on the patients suffered radical postmastectomy pain. Methods:A randomized, double-blind, controlled study.60patients undergoing radical mastectomy were divided into3groups randomly. All patients were received general anesthesia during operation. In Group F,fentanyl2.0μg/kg was added intravenously(i.v.)45minutes after the skin incision; The patients in Group KF received flurbiprofen axeil1mg/kg i.v.10minutes before incision and right after operations respectively, and fentanyl2.0μg/kg was added i.v.45minutes after the skin incision; Group N is control group, without treatment. The degree of post-operative pain was accessed with the visual analogue scale(VAS) at extubation time,3h,6h,12h, the1st day, the2nd day, the3rd day and the7th day after surgeries. The dosage of rescue analgesic in48hrs and the adverse reactions such as nausea, vomiting and respiratory inhibition were recorded after operation.Result:These three groups were well matched in age, height, weight, clinical and pathological features (P>0.05). The VAS scores of Group KF at extubation time,3h,6h,12h, the1st and the2nd day after surgery were significantly lower than the Group N and the Group F (P<0.05). Group F resulted in lower VAS scores compared with Group N (P<0.05at extubation time). There was no statistical difference in all groups’VAS after the3rd day (P>0.05). Rescue analgesia requirement postoperatively in48hrs and the incidences of adverse reaction were similar in the three groups (P>0.05).Conclusions:Flurbiprofen axeil respectively injected before and right after the operation, combined with fentanyl intravenously could enhance the effects of early postoperative analgesia and didn’t increase the adverse reactions after operation in patients undergoing radical mastectomy.
