| Objective:In recent years, more and more evidences certificate the closely relationship between diabetes mellitus(DM) and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Through the meta-analysis of case control study and cohort study about diabetes mellitus and hepatocellular carcinoma, the study want to evaluate the relationship between diabetes mellitus and hepatocellular carcinoma.Method:The study collects the literatures through the search of Medline, Ovid, EBSCO from January,1966to April,2014, through CNKI from January,1999to April,2014. Under the Stata12.0, summary odds ratio(OR) with their corresponding95%confidence intervals (95%CI) are calculated by using a random-effects model. The heterogeneity is evaluated by the analysis of subgroup. The study analysis the sensitiveness by diffrernt model, removing the worse quality study which is calculated by NOS Scale and removing the single study and analysis the publication bias by funnel plot, Begg’s test and calculating the Fail safe coefficient.Result:From January,1966to April,2014, there are22cohort studies and36case-control studies included. Through the meta-analysis by combined the cohort studies and the case-control studies, the DM is associated with the increased incidence of HCC compared with the individuals without DM(OR=2.46,95%CI:2.23-2.72, P<0.01). Through the analysis of subgroup, the research indicates the relationship between HCC and DM is influenced by age, male, drink, hepatitis and hepatic cirrhosis.Conclution:The Meta-analysis approves the positive relationship between diabetes mellitus and hepatocelluer carcinoma. And through the analysis of the subgroup, Diabetes mellitus is the risk factor of hepatocelluer carcinoma. And the age, gender, hepatitis and hepatic cirrhosis would influence the occurrence of hepatocelluer carcinoma in diabetes mellitus individuals. |
