Objective: Analyze the anatomy morphology and biomechanics ofChinese adult normal medial patellofemoral ligament(MPFL), providereference for clinical anatomy of medial patellofemoral ligamentreconstruction.Methods: Used20cases formalin soaking domestic Chineseadult knee specimens (male16, female4), observation the medialpatellofemoral ligament form and attached points, measurement MPFL femoralside beginning width, patella inside edge ended points width, MPFL of length,MPFL midpoint department of width, MPFL midpoint Department of thickness;Measuring MPFL biomechanics, record MPFL broken parts, maximum loadand elongation.Results:1. The medial patellofemoral ligament is a membranestructure which is narrow that close to the femur and wide that close to thepatella.The femoral insertion from between the adductor tubercle and thefemoral medial epicondyle, here the fiber is thin and narrow, graduallybroadening thickening; At the side of the patella, locate in the upper part ofthe inner edge of the patella, here the fiber is the most thickness and the mostbreadth.2. The average width of the femoral insertion of medial patellofemoralligament beginning is8.0275±0.86625mm; The average width of medialpatellofemoral ligament in the medial margin of the patella is20.3025±2.26910mm; The average length of MPFL is46.3590±3.80769mm; Theaverage width of MPFL midpoint is11.9715±1.29415mm; The averagethickness at the midpoint of MPFL is1.3575±0.14444mm;3. Thebiomechanical measurements of MPFL: The Central tearing of MPFL is14cases, The femoral attachment tearing is6cases; The average of tensile strengthis145.7690±12.49759N, The average of elongation is4.5580±0.53717mm.Conclusion:1.The medial patellofemoral ligament is a membrane structurewhich is narrow that close to the femur and wide that close to the patella.Thefemoral insertion from between the adductor tubercle and the femoral medial epicondyle, here the fiber is thin and narrow, gradually broadening thickening;At the side of the patella, locate in the upper part of the inner edge of thepatella, here the fiber is the most thickness and the most breadth.2.
