Objective: To understand the status of adolescent drinking behavior andanalyze the related factors in the wine culture background in Luzhou. So to helpthem establish a healthy concept of drinking and scientific basis for reducingtheir bad drinking behavior. Methods: The questionnaire was designed on thebasis of reference and the real situation of the adolescent and was completedafter pre-survey. The questionnaires included general questionnaire, drinkingquestionnaire, drinking expectancy questionnaire and adolescent cultureorientation questionnaire. Stratified cluster random sampling method was usedin the survey.The students were randomly selected from12classes in the4schools in Luzhou. They were asked to finished the secret self-administeredquestionnaire from December2013to February2014. The investigatorsannounced the guidance language and retrieved the questionnaires on the spot.A database was established after the answers were coded. SPSS17.0was usedfor the statistical analysis and the statistical methods were: proportions orrates of the classification data were used descriptive statistics; count data wasused χ2test; measurement data of two groups was used t test to compare; thedata of multiple groups was used F-test. And P <0.05was consideredstatistically significant. Results:1、644questionnaires were handed out andretrieved621questionnaires, the response rate was96.27%. There were604valid questionnaires and the effective rate was97.26%. There were329maleadolescents(54.4%) and275female adolescents (45.5%). The age were from13 years old to23years old. There were100adolescents in the junior high school(16.6%),393adolescents in the high school (65%) and111adolescents in theuniversity (18.4%).220adolescents showed the drinking behavior:125maleadolescents and95female adolescents.2、The total drinking rate was36.6%.The male’s drinking rate(38.3%) was higher than the female’s (34.5%). Thepercentage of the first time drinking under the16years age was90%, and thereasons were parents’ consent(35.9%), curiosity(29.1%) and friends’advice(15%). Beer was the main drinking type (64.5%) and the drinkingoccasions were in the dinner with friends (54.80%). The common reasons ofdrinking were birthday party (46.19%), festivals (42.88%) and studentscommunications (39.24%).3、The following factors showed the relationshipwith drinking behaviors: father’ education level (χ2=11.573, P<0.05),companions’ drinking attitude (χ2=6.762,P<0.05) and drinking managementof school (χ2=6.762, P<0.05).4、 Negative drinking expectations wereprotective factors for drinking behavior. The more negative expectations theyoung people held the less drinking behavior the young people showed(χ2=-2.21,P<0.05).5、There were no statistical differences of the westerncultural orientation score among the different gender, different grade anddrinking alcohol or not group. The score of the non-drinkers’ traditional culturaltendency was higher than that of the drinkers’, the difference was statisticallysignificant (χ2=-2.953, P <0.05).Conclusion Adolescent drinking behaviorwas very common and the related factors included family, friends, school and individual cognition etc. Father’s low education level and peer’ support attitudefor drinking were the positive factors for the alcohol use of adolescent. Whilethe negative factors for the alcohol use of adolescent were the strictmanagement of school, the negative expectations of drinking in adolescent andthe traditional adolescent.
