Study On The Influential Factor Of The Empathy Capacity Of The Nurses And The Relationship Between The Empathy Capacity Of The Nurses And The Patient Satisfaction With Nursing Care

Objectives:Investigate the factors affecting the ability of the nurses empathicand the relationship with nursing satisfaction, and enhance the level of the quality ofthe nursing care, so provide high quality of the nursing care, improve the PatientSatisfaction with Nursing Care.Methods: According to the Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital of JilinUniversity clinical departments bed occupancy and primary care, select thedepartments which usage of bed occupancy and basic nursing is higher: medicalsystems (cardiology, neurology), surgical system (orthopedics, neurosurgery). Studypopulation are the200nurses and1000hospitalized patients in the Sino-JapaneseFriendship Hospital of Jilin University from2013October to2014March.Nurseswho meet the inclusion criteria fill the questionnaire of Jefferson empathy scale. Fivepatients of each nurse were selected. The five patient who are completely randomsample of nurses filled the questionnaire of the Patient Satisfaction with Nursing Care.The data were analyzed by the following statistical methods, such as DescriptionAnalyze, One-way ANOVA, LSD-Test, Pears on Inter-correlation with SPSS13.0.Results:1. The total score of empathy ability was (80.02±8.90).The minimum score is59.00,and the maximum score is122.00.2. The score of empathy ability of the nurse under25is lower than the nurse25to30years old and the nurse more than30years old(F=3.26,P<0.05); The score ofadopting view of the nurse under25is lower than the nurse25to30years old and thenurse more than30years old(F=4.60,P<0.05)3. The score of empathy ability of the nurse whose family population is3islower than the nurse whose family population is2and the nurse whose familypopulation is4(F=3.43,P<0.05); The score of adopting view of the nurse whosefamily population is3is lower (F=3.32,P<0.05) 4. The score of the empathy of the orthopedics nurse is higher than theneurosurgery nurse、neurology nurse and cardiology nurse (F=3.12,P<0.05)5. The score of empathy ability of the nurses who satisfy with work is higherthan the nurse who dissatisfy with work and the nurse who don`t know(F=4.49,P<0.05); The score of adopting view of the nurse who satisfy with work ishigher than the nurse who dissatisfy with work and the nurse who don`t know(F=6.76,P<0.05)Conclusion:1. The empathy ability and nursing satisfaction of nurses are in intermediatelevel.2. The influence on nurses’ empathy ability are age、the family population、departments and working satisfaction.3. The influence on nurses’ adopting view are age、the family population andworking satisfaction.4. The influence on nurses’ emotional care is working satisfaction.5. The influence on nurses’ empathy is the department.6. Empathy ability was positively correlated with nursing satisfaction.
