By employing philological and statistical methods, the thesis analyzed the theory of “interior and exterior relationship between the lung and large intestine” in ancient literature, based on which a database was built. In the part of theoretical research, this paper explored the theory of “interior and exterior relationship between the lung and large intestine " literally, investigated the relations of the lung and large intestine in terms of anatomy, meridian and qi transformation, and thus an assertion was proposed that the lung and large intestine are mutually related. In terms of fluid correlation, the ascending and descending of qi movement of the lung and large intestine is the physiological mechanism of lung dredging and regulatingwater passage and large intestine governing fluid.“Lung storing corporeal soul”not only shows the relationship between lung and spirit, but indicates the relations among the lung, large intestine and essential qi, fluid, constitution, sweeting, excretion and things like that. The consistencyof the lung and large intestine keep the normal functions and activities of the whole body. This thesis adopted statistical method to investigate“interior and exterior relationship between the lung and large intestine” for the first time to explore the relations between lung and large intestine by analyzing the data. The data show that the body fluid correlation is scientific and objective, and that “interior and exterior relationship between the lung and large intestine” is a system manifested by respiration, distribution and excretion of essence, with the ascending and descending of qi movement as its functional basis, dryness nature as its physical foundation, the skin, nose, throat, anus and the location of the lung and large Intestine as its anatomical basis.
