Objective:The aim of this study is to analysis the factors hindering breast cancer detection and to outlinethe major guidelines to overcome these factors, we can reduce the missed and misdiagnosis breastcarcinoma.Methods: We included72histopathologically proven breast carcinomas that were initially missed onmammography, and we also included27histopathologically proven benign lesions that were initiallyhighly be thought breast carcinomas on mammography. The main factors are responsible for missing andmisdiagnosing a carcinoma: Disease factors, Technical factors, Provider factors, Patients factors.Summarize these factors, and propose some advices.Results:416histopathologically proven breast carcinomas, including72missed cases. In analyzing thecauses responsible for missing of these carcinomas we classified them into4causative factors;31tumorfactors,9technical factors,20provider factors,12patient factors. The misdiagnosis cases is27cases in the1617cases, include15tumor factors,4technical, provider8factors.Conclusion: The main factors are responsible for missing and misdiagnosing a carcinoma: Tumor factors(subtle carcinoma, atypical carcinoma); Technical factors (inadequate exposure factors, malpositionedbreasts and bad processing quality, pollution of IP board); Provider factors (read the piece inexperience,bad perception); Patients factors (dense breasts, small breast).
