Objective: the article aim at observing the effect of different treatment cycles onacupoint catgut embedding therapy for treatment of simple obesity and exploring theoptimum treatment cycle. The result will provide efficacy analysis basis for clinicaltreatment.Method:90patients with simple obesity who met the inclusion criteria wererandomly divided into three groups.30patients in group A receive the treatment everyweek.30patients in group B receive the treatment every fourteen days.30patients ingroup C receive the treatment every twenty-eight days.4/0chromic catgut will be injectedinto the acupoints by catgut embedding needles. Twenty-eight days is a course of treatment, and the observation lasts two courses of treatment. After that, through the method ofbefore-after self control study and comparison between groups, observe the changes beforeand after the treatment at some aspects, such as weight, BMI, waist circumference, hipcircumference, chest circumference and adverse reaction and evaluate the effect ofdifferent treatment cycles acupoint catgut embedding therapy for treatment of simpleobesity.Result: After two courses of treatment, there are significant improvements of allthree groups’ patients’ weight, BMI, hip circumference, waist circumference andfollowed symptoms which has significant difference compared with that before treatment(p<0.05), but there are no significant changes of chest circumference which has no significant difference compared with that before treatment. Comparison among threegroups shows that there is no significant difference between group A and group B(p>0.05), there are significant difference between group A and group C (p<0.05), thereare also significant difference between group B and group C (p<0.05). The clinicalcurable effect of group A and group B is much better than group C. The adverse reactionrates of group B and group C are lower than group A, Comparison among them hassignificance difference (p<0.05).Conclusion: The optimum treatment cycle of acupoint catgut embedding therapyfor treatment of simple obesity using4/0chromic catgut is14days. Receiving thetreatment every14days can get the best clinical curable effects as well as least reversereactions.
