| This paper summarizes and analyzes the low back pain discussed in Huangdi Neijing,including its etiology and pathogenesis, dialectical theory of governance, and acupuncturepoint selection, in order to improve the acupuncture theory for the treatment of back painand provide further reference for the clinical practice.Neijing talked various syndromes related to low back pain, so it can serve as aclinical reference and identification. It also gives detailed exposition in etiology andpathogenesis,cardinal and accompanied symptoms, and acupuncture methods. The onsetof low back pain has significant corelation with time, space, physique, social environmentand even Five elements’ motion and Six kinds of natural factors. Therefore, the therapeuticmethod should depend on these different factors.
