Objective: To observe the clinical curative effect of Jiawei Anchang Yuyang Decoction in thetreatment of steroid dependent ulcerative colitis and probe into its mechanism,in order to providetheoretical and clinical basis for the Chinese medicine treatment of the disease. Methods: The selected60patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomlydivided into two groups.Namely, the experimental group (prednisone tablets combinedwith Jiawei Anchang Yuyang decoction group)30cases and the control group (prednisonetablets combined with release mesalamine granules oral dose group)30cases. Aftertreatment for8weeks, comparing the clinical efficacy of the treatment of the two groups ofintegrated TCM syndromes, TCM symptom score, hormone withdrawal, the microscopiccolonic mucosa as pathological changes in mucosal tissue, and serum ESR, CRP, IL-6,TNF-α, D-dimer changes and safety; and treatment of patients with remission and effectivefollow-up of six months, the relapse rate was observed after6months.Results: Comprehensive clinical efficacy, TCM syndrome, colonoscopy mucosalefficacy, the efficacy of mucosal pathology, hormone withdrawal aspects of efficacy andwithdrawal of reductions in both groups improved to varying degrees, but theexperimental group than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01or P<0.05); TCM groups were the main symptom score compared with theexperimental group TCM main symptoms were significantly improved compared withbefore treatment and after treatment itself, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01); the control group in diarrhea, blood and pus, abdominal pain, tenesmus, abdominaldistension aspects improved compared with before treatment, there was significant difference (P<0.01or P<0.05), while in the other major improvement in symptoms (Shenpilazy words, physical fatigue) aspects compared with before treatment, no statisticallysignificant difference (P>0.05). After treatment, the results of the t test, the test group maineffect in the above symptoms than the control group, the difference was statisticallysignificant (P<0.01or P<0.05). Comparing the two groups before and after their treatment, serum ESR, CRP, IL-6, TNF-α, D-dimer improved in varying degrees, statisticallysignificant differences (P<0.01or P<0.05); two groups after the comparison between thetreatment, serum ESR, CRP, IL-6, TNF-α, D-dimer improvement than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). After8weeks of treatment, patientstreated remission and effective follow-up of six months, the recurrence rate of theexperimental group was significantly lower than the control group, statistically significantdifferences (P<0.01). In the observation process, the test group1patients due toabnormally elevated blood sugar, irritability, insomnia and initiative to withdraw fromresearch; control group1patients due to increased appetite, irritability, insomnia, elevatedglucose, active withdrew from the study; otherwise a patients because of increasedsymptoms prematurely withdrew from the study. Other patients during treatment withoccasional stomach discomfort, dry mouth, sweating, increased appetite, edema, insomniaand other mild adverse reactions, but after a timely symptomatic treatment can bemitigated to the extent of the patient can tolerate, and with treatment to observe the end.Safety indicators before treatment showed no significant change compared to the volatilityin the normal range. Conclusion: Jiawei Anchang Yuyang decoction by improving immune function inpatients with steroid-dependent UC, playing anti-inflammatory antimicrobial effect, improving intestinal microcirculation effectively accelerate UC remission, relapseprevention. Clinical studies have shown that Jiawei Anchang Yuyang decoction canaccelerate the speed of hormone withdrawal. To steroid-dependent UC,it is a safe andeffective alternative or partial alternative treatment method.
