The Ethics Analysis Of The Problems In Medical Waste Disposal In China

With the rapid development of China’s economy and continuous improvement of people’s living standards, China’s health services have also made a great progress. Medical institutions serve people while also produce more and more complex types of waste. Medical waste is very hazardous, in addition to the general characteristics of hazardous waste, but also infectious, contagious and corrosive. So medical waste has a direct or indirect harm to human health and the environment. It is difficult to decompose medical waste for its plenty of organic matter. If the medical waste are mixed with garbage, it can cause the spread of pathogenic microorganisms and cause secondary pollution of soil and groundwater sources no matter piled heap or buried. Therefore, incorrect disposal of medical waste is an important hazard to threaten the environment and human health.Faced with frequent incidents of medical waste pollution, people are increasingly concerned about the problem of medical waste treatment. The State Council and the Ministry of Health and the provincial governments have introduced a series of laws to regulate the management of medical waste, however, our medical waste treatment still faces many problems. Therefore, it has important theoretical and practical value for China to establish a sound and comprehensive medical waste disposal system. From the analysis of the data, it can be concluded that at present most people basically realized the importance of centralized disposal of medical waste except some individuals. Also the public awareness of medical waste level is still to be improved. With the growing urban medical waste, there is inadequate attention to the presence of harmful physical and ecological problems of medical waste disposal, and there are ethical anomie medical waste treatment, unreasonable medical waste centralized disposal fee system, imperfect principles of medical waste treatment problems, all leading to an endless stream of medical waste pollution incidents.The paper describes the concept of medical waste, characteristics, classification and treatment of medical waste. Next, it discusses the current existence of the medical waste disposal problems, then explores solutions to the problems of medical waste treatment in the ethical view, including improving citizens’ responsibility of social morality and preventing pollution; Setting up harmonious value orientation and idea between human beings and nature; Constructing the system of policies and regulations on the rules of fair. Finally, combined with China’s specific conditions, on the basic of sustainable development idea to improve the medical wastes’ disposed principle, it is considered to provide some valuable suggestions for the treatment of medical waste.
