Objective:hepatitis C (CHC) is a hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, liver damage mainly to a group of systemic diseases.210 million people worldwide infected with the hepatitis C virus, accounting for about 3% of the world’s population, is the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected more than 5 times, its chronic ratio of up to 50.0%-85.0%; recent studies found that vitamin D in addition to calcium and phosphorus metabolism, vitamin D can also affect the nerves, muscle, immune, hematopoietic and other tissues and organs function. Vitamin D deficiency in patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC) in the more common cause of chronic hepatitis C patients after possible infection with hepatitis C virus-related liver damage,25-hydroxy vitamin D (referred to 25-(OH) D, including 25-hydroxyvitamin D2 and 25-hydroxy vitamin D3), one of the main forms of vitamin D in the body, because of its long half-life, there is a form of stability, and therefore measured 25-hydroxyvitamin D is the best indicator of vitamin D nutritional status. This study was carried out to detect hepatitis C patients with chronic hepatitis 25-hydroxy vitamin D [25-(OH) D] levels. Methods:The First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University collected Infectious Diseases between January 2012 to June 2014 63 patients with chronic hepatitis C, including 28 males and 35 females, aged 20-63 years, mean age (41.87 ± 11.62) year old. All chronic hepatitis C patients were divided into:group vitamin deficiency (vitamin D deficiency):25-hydroxyvitamin D<20ng/mL (50 nmol/L); vitamin D deficiency group (vitamin D insuffieiency):20~30ng/ml (50~75 nmol/L); 25-hydroxyvitamin D adequate group:25-hydroxyvitamin D levels> 30 ng/ml (>75 nmol/L), compared to their 25-hydroxy vitamin D levels. According to the UN World Health Organization raised the age segment, all the patients were divided into youth group:Age<45 years; middle age groups:45 to 59 years of age; the older group:Age> 60 years old. Hepatitis C patients of all ages for 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels were compared. Men are divided into groups according to sex and female groups, their vitamin D levels of 25 to grab different gender patients were compared. In turn divided according to the Han ethnic group and other minority ethnic groups were compared to their vitamin D levels. Results:Patients with chronic hepatitis C 25 (OH) vitamin D deficiency ratio was 66.7%, 25-hydroxy vitamin D deficiency ratio was 20.6%,25-hydroxy vitamin D sufficient accounted for only 12.7% of all subjects. Hepatitis C patients of all ages for 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels were compared. The youth group of 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels, each deficiency and inadequate in 21 (65.6%) and 8 cases (25.0%),25-hydroxy vitamin D sufficient account three cases (9.4%). Lack of middle-aged 25-hydroxy vitamin D levels 19 cases (70.4%),25-hydroxy vitamin D deficiency 4 cases (14.8%),25-hydroxy vitamin D adequate for the four cases (14.8%). Elderly group 25-hydroxy vitamin D deficiency level 2 cases (66.7%),25-hydroxy vitamin D deficiency is one cases (12.7%), 25-hydroxy vitamin D adequacy is one case (12.7%). Male group:the lack of 25-hydroxyvitamin D level of 15 cases (53.6%),25-hydroxy vitamin D deficiency is 9 patients (32.1%),25-hydroxy vitamin D adequate for the four cases (14.3%). Female Group:lack 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels of 27 patients (77.1%),25-hydroxy vitamin D deficiency 4 cases (11.4%),25-hydroxy vitamin D sufficient account of four cases (11.4%). Han Chinese accounted for 71.4% of vitamin D deficiency, vitamin D deficiency 16.7%,11.9% adequate,25-hydroxy vitamin D deficiency minority (57.1%), vitamin D deficiency (28.6%),14.3% adequate. Each ethnic distribution of 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels constitute no significant difference, (P> 0.05).Conclusion:hepatitis patients with chronic hepatitis C serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels decrease.
