Objective:To investigate the expression of miR-143 in peripheral blood of patients in both Uygnr and Han women with cervical squamous cell carcinoma and to explore the possibility of miR-143 in peripheral blood as a marker of breast cancer. Methods:64 cases from Apr 2011 to Dec 2013 and 30 healthy controls were enrolled according to the selected criteria and the study. The level of expression of miR-143 in peripheral blood was measured by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis. The association between the expression of miR-143 in peripheral blood and the clinical pathological features was analyzed. Results:The relative expression of miR-143 in healthy control group, Han and Uighur cervical squamous carcinoma group are: 0.525(0.243,1.927),8.844(1.975,38.773)and4.301(1.997,12.089) respectively; The relative expression of miR-143 in three groups was statistically significant (H= 12.900, P=0.002). after Inspection standard calibration, in the comparison between the two, and with the normal healthy group, the relative expression of miR-143 in the peripheral blood in the Han Chinese and Uighurs cervical squamous carcinoma group were statistically significant (Z=-2.829, P= 0.004; Z=-2.959, P= 0.002). There was no statistically significant difference (Z=-0.902, P=0.393) between Han and Uighur cervical squamous carcinoma group in the peripheral blood of the relative expression miR-143. The relative expression of miR-143 in peripheral blood in the healthy control group and cervical squamous carcinoma group (Han and Uighur)was statistically significant (Z=-3.547,P= 0.000). The association between the relative expression of miR-143 in peripheral blood and the clinicopathological features of cervical squamous cell carcinoma patients:the relative expression of miR-143 was related to tumor diameter, and tumor diameter≤4 cm of the expression of miR-143 was obviously higher than that of patients with tumor in patients with a diameter of bigger than 4cm (17.325 (4.301,36.626) & 2.694 (0.961,8.703)). There was statistical significance (P=0.043). No significant associations were found among the expression levels of miR-143, factors as age, FIGO stage, types of histology, lymph node metastasis and parametrial infiltration (P values were 0.838,0.333,0.475,0.386and 0.841). Conclusion:The relative expression of miR-143 in peripheral blood in cervical squamous carcinoma tissues was up-regulated, which may play an important role in the process in the initiation and development of cervical squamous carcinoma, and it is need the further study whether is valuable for diagnostic and prognostic evaluation for cervical cancer.
