PBJECTIVE Observed the plasma brain natriuretic peptide and high-sensitivity c-reactive protein levels change in children with congenital heart disease and heart failure. Analysis of the relationship between BNP and the severity of the HF,and assessment of cardiac function value. METHODS Select the 90 children of CHD in January 2013 to August in the Guilin Medical College Hospital, According to the ROSS Child HF index criteria were divided into three groups: No HF group( 23 cases), mild HF group( 21 cases), moderate to severe HF group(18cases). Select 24 cases of healthy children as a control group, Determination of plasma BNP and CRP levels by ELISA, Analysis of plasma BNP and CRP levels and the correlation between the severity of HF. RESULTS: With the increase of plasma BNP levels increased HF severity( r = 0.72,P < 0.05), More severe HF, elevated plasma BNP levels more significant, Moderate to severe HF group BNP levels higher than mild HF group(p<0.05), BNP level with mild HF group than those without HF group(p<0.05). CRP levels had no significant linear relationship. CONCLUSION :With the increase in plasma BNP levels and increased severity of HF. Plasma BNP has important clinical implications for the assessment of children with CHD and HF severity and prognosis.
