ObjectThrough the research of hysteria proneness of schoolchildrenand influencing factors,aims tounderstandtheepidemiological characteristicsofthestudents’ score of hysteria in Suzhou,as well asprovidesome scientific basisto avoidthis phenomenonoccurringin schools in the future.MethodsA questionnaire survey was conducted on 23132 students by stratified cluster sampling in total 42 schools, including Suzhou urban and rural primary school, junior high school, senior high school and vocational high school.After excluding invalid questionnaires, recovery rate was 98.6%. A database was established by using Epi Data3.1,thestudents’ score of hysteriapropensityof schoolchildren was analysed by using SPSS19.0 and AMOS17.0 in T-test, variance analysis, structural equation modeling and multiple linear regression for statistical inference.Results1.The reliability and validity The Cronbach’s αcoefficient of the questionnaire is 0.96,measured by SPSS 19.0.It shows that the questionnaire has good reliability.Structural equation modeling used on each sample of primary school,middle school,high school and professional high school,measured by AMOS 17.0.To the samples of primary school and middle school,RMSEA<0.05,the model has very good fitting.To the samples of high school and professional high school,0.05<RMSEA<0.08,the model has good fitting.So the validity of the questionnaire is good.2.Scores of students between different school types Survey showed that hysteria propensity score difference have statistical significance in different regions,differentgenders, different grades, parents of different occupations and different education students(p<0.05).Hysteria propensity scores of urbanboys and girls were 6.29±4.77 and 6.04±4.31, respectively, the scores of rural boys and girls were 6.08±4.44 and 5.68±4.03, respectively. The scores of city students were higher than that of rural students(p<0.05), and boys were higher than girls(p<0.05).The scores of urban middle school boys and girls were 7.10±4.86 and 6.82±4.50,respectively,which were higher than other groups(p<0.05). The score of rural high school girls is 6.45±4.02,which were higher than other groups(p<0.05).3.Scores of students between different occupations of parents The scores of the boys whose fathers’ occupation is administrative personnel or mothers’ occupation is worker were 6.25±4.86 and 6.25±4.34, respectively, which were higher than other groups(p<0.05). The scores of the girls whose fathers or mothers were unemployed were 6.69±4.70 and 6.16±4.16, respectively, which were higher than other groups(p<0.05).4.Scores of students between different level of education of parents The scores of urban and rural students whose parents were illiteracy or semi-illiteracy were higher than other groups(p<0.05).The scores of urban girlswhosefather or mother’ education level were illiterate were 8.45±6.02 and 7.20±5.22,which were higher than other groups(p<0.05).The scores of rural boyswhosefather or mother’ education level were illiterate were 9.00±6.36 and 7.94±5.45,which were higher than other groups(p<0.05).The scores of rural girlswhosefather or mother’ education level were illiterate were 7.72±5.19 and 6.40±4.52,which were higher than other groups(p<0.05).5.The multiple regression analysis of effecting schoolchildren hysteria propensity score Different area, sex, grades, father’s education, mother’s education have great impact for schoolchildren hysteria propensity score,statistically significant(p<0.05).Anxiety neurosis propensity score,bipolar disorder propensity score, schizophrenia propensity score,depression propensity score,neurotic propensity score have impact for schoolchildren hysteria propensity score,statistically significant(p<0.05).Conclusion1.Hysteria propensity scores between different school types have statistically significance,and students in high school have the highest scores.Urban students were higher than rural, boys were higher than girls.2.The scores of students between different occupations of parents have statistically significance in rural,and it is higher when their father are workers, administrators and no professional than others.3.The scores of students between different level of education of parents have no statistically significance in boys from urban,and the scores were inversely proportional to parents educational levels.4.Area of residence, sex, grade, and parents’ education level are the main factors affecting schoolchildren hysteria propensity scores.5.Our results suggest that it is important to popularize children’s mental health knowledge to parents and teachers and pay attention to children’s mental health problems, so that it they can better adapt to the family and social environment.
