Objective:To explore the Uighur and Han Chinese spine surgery patients with intraoperative and postoperative blood loss and the differences of postoperative complications. Methods:From January 2013 and November 2014, a total 244 patients with lumbar disease were enrolled. There were 126 patients with the Uighur and 118 patients with the Han nationality. There were lumbar disc herniation (n=100), lumbar spinal stenosis (n=80), lumbar spondylolisthesis (n=62). All cases were recorded in patients with preoperative general situation, time of operation, operative level, intraoperative blood loss, infusion quantity, urine output, blood transfusion, autologous blood transfusion, fresh frozen plasma transfusion, postoperative blood transfusion, postoperative immediate,24h,48h, final drainage volume, duration of drainage tube, postoperative HB content on the first day, on the third day, after more than five days, the incidence of postoperative VTE, cardiac adverse events, respiratory system related complications, incision infection and nausea and vomit. Results:The average age of the Uighur and Han nationality were 58.8±7.3 years and 57.9±7.6 years old. In postoperative 24h drainage volume of Uighur and Han Chinese were 126.4±91.7ml and 188.3±103.9ml, the difference was statistically significant (t=4.941,P<0.05). In postoperative 48h drainage volume of Uighur and Han Chinese were 224.4±98.5ml and 365.8±110.3ml, the difference was statistically significant (t=10.575,P<0.05). In final drainage volume of Uighur and Han Chinese were 300.7±104.5ml and 634.7±121.5ml, the difference was statistically significant (r=23.065,P<0.05). The duration of drainage tube of Uighur and Han Chinese were 5.5±2.3 days and 7.4±2.2 days, the difference was statistically significant (t=6.585,P<0.05). The incidence of postoperative DVT of Uighur and Han Chinese patients were 12 (9.5%) cases and 3 (2.5%) cases, the difference was statistically significant (χ2=4.009,P=0.045). Conclusion:Uighur patients in spinal surgery with postoperative haemorrhage amount is less than Han nationality and the incidence of postoperative DVT is higher than Han nationality.
