Meta Analysis Of The Efficacy Of Electrical Stimulation Treatment On Cerebral Palsy

Objective:To evaluate the effect of electrical stimulation treatment on cerebral palsy patients.Methods:A computer-based online retrieval of Wanfang Database, VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals, CNKI Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, PubMed Database, and Ovid Database was performed for randomized controlled trials with comparable baseline and clear diagnosis. The quality of the literatures was strictly evaluated using RevMan5.1 software according to the Cochrane Reviewer’s Handbook.Results:Eventually 14 papers were included in the Meta analysis. Meta analysis results showed that, electrical stimulation treatment was better than simple rehabilitation in the improvement of patient’s sialorrhea [OR=7.39,95%CI:(2.99,18.30), P<0.0001],the degree of gastrocnemius spasm [OR=-0.72,95%CI:(-0.82,-0.61),P< 0.00001], gross motor function score in D area (standing) [OR=8.11,95%CI:(2.40, 13.82), P= 0.005], gross motor function score in E area (going, running, jumping) [OR=9.88,95%CI:(8.01,11.75), P<0.00001], and the ability to walk [OR=0.07, 95%CI(0.03,0.11), P=0.0001].Conclusion:Electrical stimulation treatment on cerebral palsy in the aspect of clinical effective, joint rehabilitation therapy at the same time, the effect is more significant.
