Purpose:By exploring the anxiety state and related factors of patients with low rectal cancer proposed to accept colostomy, the study is aimed at helping patients to form the effective coping styles and minimize the negative impact of anxiety to the quality of life, surgical treatment and rehabilitation. To improve the psychological health condition and living quality of patients and establish the combining care model of standardization and commonality.And to build the entire process nursing model of colostomy patients which will be promoted in nursing daily work.Materials and Methods:161 patients with low rectal cancer proposed to accept colostomy in general surgery department of Qilu hospital, Shandong University were informed and enrolled continuously before surgery.All the patients were divided to two teams with random and compared ways, the routine nursing group (n= 78 people) and the entire nursing process group (n= 83). Based on the routing care, the entire nursing process group were adopted therapeutic communication system mode. The state-anxiety inventory and Trait Coping Style Questionnaire of two groups were assessed on the first day after surgery and prior to discharge respectively. The difference influence between routine and entire nursing process of the psychological state and coping style was analyzed.Results:1. All patients (100%) manifested anxious after colostomy surgery, with anxiety score of 54.34 ± 9.53. The anxiety levels of rectal cancer patients was significantly correlated with coping styles, which was in negative correlation with positive response and positive with negative response.2. The incidence of anxiety had no significant correlation with age, education level, economic status, occupation, home location, payment of medical expenses or primary caregivers. (p>0.05);3. Before the intervention, there was no significant statistical difference (P>0.05) of the general information between the entire nursing process model group and routine nursing group (P>0.05). While after intervention, the difference of anxiety scores between two groups was statistically significant (P<0.01). The difference of anxiety and trait coping style score in the entire nursing process model group before and after the intervention was statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusions:1. The incidence of preoperative anxiety among informed rectal patients is very high and be worthy of more attentions;2. The anxiety levels of rectal cancer patients was significantly related to coping patterns;3. The evaluation and estimation of patients effective coping patterns in entire nursing process model is feasible and can effectively relieve the anxiety of informed rectal cancer patients before surgery.
