Objective:Investigate the clinical significance of detecting serum CEA、CA199 in the diagnosis of lung cancer, and the relationship between serum CEA, CA199 and different pathological types, clinical stage of lung cancer.Method; In this study, the clinical records of 214 newly-diagnosed and previously untreated primary lung cancer patients and 62 benign lung diseases patients as control group admitted to Department Ⅱ of Internal Medicine, Linyi Tumor Hospital, between January 2012 and July 2013 were reviewed. In this study, we retrospectively investigate the levels of serum CEA and CA199 in lung cancer patients as well as in patients with benign lung diseases. Sensitivity, specificity, for lung cancer diagnosis were calculated for each tumor marker and incombination with two tumor markers. Investigate the relationship between serum CEA, CA199 and different pathological types, clinical stage of lung cancer.Result:The positive rate of serum CEA in patients of lung cancer and benign lung disease group were:54.7%,9%, the positive rate of serum CA199 in patients of lung cancer and benign lung disease group were 43%,11%, The average levels of CEA,CA199 in lung cancer patients were clearly higher than those patients with benign lung disease(average score±SD of CEA in lung cancer:39.185±84.625 ng/mL, average score±SD of CEA in benign lung disease:3.813±2.543ng/mL, average score±SD of CA199 in lung cancer:97.116±183.248ng/mL,).The serum CEA、CA199 levels of patients with lung cancer were significantly higher than those with benign lung disease. Sensitivity of CEA for detecting lung cancer was higher than CA199(54.7%/43%). The combination of two tumor markers resulted in a lower in a lower sensitivity (32.8%) but in a higher specificity (96.3%). Sensitivity of CEA for pathological types of lung cancer were:lung adenocarcinoma72.8%, squamous cell carcinoma29.9%, SCLC28.1%, CA199 for different pathological types of lung cancer were:lung adenocarcinoma52%, squamous cell carcinoma29.8%, SCLC32.3%. The sensitivity of CEA, CA199 for lung adenocarcinoma were was significantly higher than squamous cell carcinoma and SCLC. The levels of serum CEA, CA199 have relationship with the stage of lung cancer. The later stages, the higher expression levels. Conclusion:The detection of serum CEA, CA199 has some clinical significance in the diagnosis of lung cancer. Serum CEA, CA199 expression levels in lung cancer were significantly higher were than benign lung disease group. The sensitivity of CEA, CA199 for lung adenocarcinoma were was highest. The levels of serum CEA, CA199 have relationship with the stage of lung cancer. The later stages, the higher expression levels. We can initially determine pathology and clinical stage of lung cancer according to the levels of serum CEA, CA199.
