ObjectiveTo provide clinical medication and optimized methods with practical evidence, the author systemically evaluates curative effect, CK level, TCM symptoms, dosage of glucocorticoid, side effect number and other medical data of treating dermatomyositis with the combination of Chinese traditional and western medicine.MethodsThis research has a systematic evaluation about curative effect, CK level, TCM symptoms, dosage of glucocorticoid, side effect number and other medical data of combination treatment of dermatomyositis through Chinese traditional and western medicine. The selection of references is strictly based on the standard of incorporation and elimination after a comprehensive retrieval. According to Cochrane Handbook 5.3, the author has a bias risk assessment on the quality of selected methodologies while researching and analyzing on the selected references. The author also applies softwares, RevMan V5.3 and STATA/SE 12.1, to make a statistical data analysis, a publication bias and a sensitivity analysis.Results15 trials, included with a total of 1062 patients:534 in the experim ental group and 492 in the control group, met the inclusion criteria for this meta-analysis. The resluts show:①The pooled OR for the curative eff ect of DM patients was 3.08 (95% confidence interval 1.91-4.96), Z=4.61, P< 0.00001;②MD for the CK level was-74.49(95% CI-97.83,-51.14), Z=6.25, P<0.00001; ③MD for the TCM symptoms was-2.46(95%CI-3.37,-1.54), Z=5.2 4, P<0.00001;④MD for the dosage of glucocorticoid was-6.50(95%CI-9.41, -3.59), Z=4.37, P<0.00001;⑤O for the side affect number was 0.18(95% CI 0.12,0.29), Z=7.21, P<0.00001.ConclusionThe analysis result of systematic evaluation demonstrates that combination treatment of dermatomyositis through Chinese traditional and western medicine which can improve total effect rate and TCM symptoms, decrease CK level and side effect number, reduce dosage of glucocorticoid has better curative effect than pure western medicine Nevertheless, the quality of methodologies of the references is not standard and strict enough which may result in a potential publication bias. Hence, there is an urgent need for clinical research with high quality to have a further and objective evaluation on the curative effect and safety of combination treatment of dermatomyositis through Chinese traditional and western medicine.
