Objective:To observe the effects of Compound Qima Capsule on blood pressure, homocysteine(Hcy), leptin level and clinical symptoms in H hypertension patients, to investigate the correlation between Hcy and leptin and mechanism of Qi deficiency and turbid phlegm.Methods:84 eligible patients of H hypertension diagnosed to the TCM syndrome of Qi deficiency and turbid phlegm were enrolled, and then ramdomly dibided into treatment group(43 cases) and control group(41 cases), the two groups were given basic antihypertensive drugs Irbesartan Tablets (one capsule each time, once a day), in which the control group was based on the use of folic acid tablets (two pills at a time, three times per day) combination therapy, and the treatment group was given Compound Qima Capsule (two pills at a time, three times per day), for 8 weeks, respectively, to compare changes of blood pressure, homocysteine, serum leptin level and clinical symptoms between two groups before and after the treatment. And before treatment, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure were statistically analyzed with Hcy, leptin levels respectively, to explore whether there is a correlation between them.Result:1. Comparison of score and efficient of TCM symptoms before and after treatment:There was no statistically significant bewteen the two on TCM symptoms score before treatment (P>0.05), which is comparable. The symptom score of TCM decreasd significantly in both of the two groups(P<0.01), and that of treatment group decreasd more obvious in treatment group compared with control group(P<0.05). The total effective rate of TCM symptoms is 92.5% in treatment group, which is much better than 77.5% in control group, there was significance between them(P<0.05).2.Comparison of clinic blood pressure and efficient of blood pressure before and after treatment:There was no statistically significant bewteen the two on blood pressure before treatment(P>0.05), which is comparable. the systolic blood pressure(SBP) and diastolic blood pressure(DBP) of two groups were significantly lower than before (P<0.01), the SBP decreased more significant than control group (P<0.05), but the DBP had no differences between them after treatment (P>0.05).The total effective rate of blood pressure in treatment group is 95%, which is higher than 80% in control group, there was significance between them(P<0.05).3.Comparison of Hey level before and after treatment:There was no statistically significant bewteen the two on Hey level before treatment(P > 0.05), which is comparable. Hey decreased in both groups during the treatment (P<0.01), but there was no significant difference in Hey between the two groups after the treatment (P>0.05), it showed that treatment group is almost equal to that of control group in decreasing Hey level.4. Comparison of leptin level before and after treatment:There was no statistically significant bewteen the two on leptin level before treatment (P >0.05), which is comparable. The leptin level deceased significantly in both groups (P<0.01), after treatment, leptin level of treatment group was lower than that of control group, there was statistical significance between the two groups (P< 0.05).、5. The correlation between Hey, leptin and systolic and diastolic blood pressure before treatment:By comparing pairwise correlation, we got the following results:leptin and Hey was positively correlated with a statistically significant correlation(P< 0.01), Hey was positively correlated with systolic blood pressure (P<0.01), the same as leptin and systolic blood pressure, there was statistical significance between them(P <0.01), but Hey and leptin both had no significant correlation compared with diastolic blood pressure, respectively (P>0.05).Conclusion:Compound Qima capsule can significantly improve clinical TCM symptoms of H hypertension patients, control blood pressure level, reduce Hey and leptin level, so that to better prevent the occurrence of cardivovascular events. There is correlation between Hey and leptin in H hypertensive patients, leptin and Hey can be indicators of determining the severity of H hypertension.
