The Study And Sorting On The Experience Of Professor Huang Xianzhang Treating Knee Osteoarthritis

ObjectiveTo fully study and sort on the experience of professor Huang Xianzhang treating osteoarthritis of knee.MethosWe collected the medical data of Prof. Huang Xianzhang in the electronic Medical Records System over the past 4 years, together with the camera records. Cases of medical record were collected to analyze with the EpiData3.1. The datas then were transferred into excel format to establish a best data mining model of the medical reports. Frequencies, association analysis, Cluster analysis and factor analysis were used to analyze the prescription of Prof. Huang’s therapy for KOA.Meetings were held to discuss with Doctor Huang to compare the results of the data mining with Doctor Huang’s clinical experience. The final results were decided by Doctor Huang.ResultsEighty cases of medical records were finally collected and 72 kinds of herbs were found to have been used. Herbs for rheumatism, yang-tonifying herbs and blood activating herbs were the most frequently used. Eucommia ulmoides and Herba taxilli were the most frequently used among the herbs for rheumatism. Saposhnicovia divaricata, Chaenomeles sinensis(Thouin) koehne and Mulberry Twig were the most frequently used among the yang-tonifying herbs. Achyranthes bidentata and Radix curcumae were the most frequently used among the blood activating herbs.Four prescriptions were summarized with cluster analysis:Achyranthes bidentata, Panax notoginseng, Cortex Phellodendri Chinensis, Chaenomeles sinensis (Thouin) Koehne, Pericarpium citri reticulatae, Glycyrrhiza; Pericarpium citri reticulatae, India mustard seed, Siegesbeckia pubescens, Cortex Phellodendri Chinensis, Mulberry Twig, Saposhnicovia divaricata, Safflower, Glycyrrhiza; Codonopsis pilosula, atractylodes rhizome, Radix Angelicae dahuricae, Atractylone, Achyranthes bidentata, Loranthaceae, Eucommia ulmoides; Loranthaceae, Eucommia ulmoides, Morinda officinalis, Rhizoma cibotii, Achyranthes bidentata, Angelica pubescens, Dipsacus asperoids, Corydalis yanhusuo.ConclusionCompared with the clinical practice of Xianzhang Huang, the results of data mining were similar in prescription which showed that dispelling wind and eliminating dampness, activating blood and expelling phlegm, tonify the liver and kidney were the main methods in treating KOA. And he’s good at using two traditional Chinese medicines together to have a better healing effection.
