A Study Of The Current Status And Correlative Factors Of The Hospital Violence In Hefei

Objective To know the status and epidemiological characteristics of hospital violence on the medical staffs of the tertiary general hospital in Hefei,and analyze the influencing factors.To investigate and analyse the view between the doctors and the patients about the related factors of hospital violence on the medical staffs.To explore effective prevention measures to reduce the hospital violence on the medical staffs.Methods Adopting cluster random sampling method,520 medical staffs and patients were investigated by questionnaire.The survey is divided into two parts:survey of the status of hospital violence on the medical staffs and the cognitive level of the doctors and the patients about the related factors of workplace violence in hospital.In this study, 520 questionnaires were sent out.And recycling effective questionnaire is 476,includ 235 questionnaires of medical workers and 241 questionnaires of patients,the valid return rate is 91.5%. Using Epi Data3.1 software and double entry way to establish database and consistency test.Using SPSS13.0 software to descriptive analysis,chi-square statistics,logistic regression analysis, variance analysis, etc.Results(1) We investigated 235 medical staffs,and 155 of them had experienced hospital violence in the past 12 months.With a total rate of 66%,and the psychological violence was 66%,the physical violence was 20.4%.There are 48 medical staffs in psychological violence subjected to physical violence at the same time.(2) The hospital violence mainly occurred during daytime hours(55.3%),and mainly in the doctor’s office(34.0%),troublemakers were patients relatives(60.4%).Main causesfor hospital violence included unreasonable requirement from patients was not meet(39.1%), or the perpetrator low quality(40.4%).The main ways of dealing with violence of medical staffs was patiently explained(80%).Hospital to treatment is mainly based on the objective facts to give analysis and psychological counseling(43.8%).(3) The chi-square test and logistic regression analysis showed that the educational background and the service years of work of medical works are risk factors of subjecting to hospital violence.(4) There are many differences on the views of the related factors of hospital violence between medical workers and patients.(5) One way ANOVA of the different interventions on the questionnaires showed that the department,the educational background,the employment way of the medical works could influence their viewpoint of the related factors of hospital violence,and Patient’s age,occupation,level of education,the types of treatment could influence their viewpoint of the related factors of hospital violence.Conclusions(1) The hospital violence on the medical works of Hefei integrative hospital was serious.And the educational background and the service years of work were the dominating influencing factor.(2) There are many differences on the views of the related factors of hospital violence between medical workers and patients.(3) Hospital and health management department shall formulate corresponding countermeasures to reduce the occurrence of violence and rebuild a harmonious doctor-patient relationship,such as improve the health care system and related legal system,carry out targeted training,improve the medical staff’s quality,enhance the service consciousness, strengthen the doctor-patient communication,and so on.
