Object: This study is mainly about illustrating the correlations between ketosis in type2 diabetes and “constitutional theory” in traditional Chinese medicineMethod: 300 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes were collected. According to the “constitutional theory” in traditional Chinese medicine, the patients were divided into different types of habitus to analysis the correlations between ketosis in type2 diabetes and “constitutional theory” in traditional Chinese medicine and pathogenic factors.Result: 1. 1.The percentage of phlegm-damp type, yin deficiency type and dampness heat type in type 2 diabetes patients were 31.00%、19.67%、17.33 respectively while the percentage of Qi depression type, Qi deficiency type, blood stasis type, gentle type, yang deficiency type were 9.33%、8.00%、6.67%、5.67%、2.33%2. With the age growing, the patients in yin deficiency type, yang deficiency type, and Qi deficiency type were increased. The amount of male patient in phlegm-damp type and dampness heat type were more than female patients while the amount of female patients in Qi depression type was more than male patients and most of the patients in phlegm-damp type and dampness heat type were middle-aged male patient.3. The average body weight in phlegm-damp type patients is much higher than other types of patients while the average body weight is lowest in yin deficiency type. The BMI in yin deficiency type, Qi depression type, blood stasis type compared with the phlegm-damp type were significantly lower.4. The levels of blood glucose in dampness heat type were highest and second in blood stasis type. The urine ket level is also higher in dampness heat type than other types of patients. Compared with the dampness heat type, the FPG was lower in gentle type, yin deficiency type and Qi depression ty pe and the 2h PG in yin deficiency type was significantly lower. The Hb Alc i n gentle type was lower than dampness heat type and blood stasis type. The KET in gentle type and Qi depression type were lower than dampness heat t ype.5.The levels of blood lipid in each types of patient were increased. The TC level was higher in phlegm-damp type as compared to gentle type, yin deficiency type,Qi depression type and blood stasis type. Compared with dampness heat type, the TC level in Qi depression type and gentle type was lower. The level of TG was the highest in phlegm-damp type and second in dampness heat type. Compared with the phlegm-damp type, the TG were lower in gentle type, Yang deficiency type and Qi depression type. The LDL-C level in blood stasis type was the highest. Compared with the blood stasis type, the LDL-C were lower in gentle type, yin deficiency type, Qi depression type and Qi deficiency type. Conclusion: 1.This study demonstrated that the mainly types of constitution in type 2 diabetes patients were phlegm-damp type, yin deficiency type and dampness heat type.2. Most of the phlegm-damp type patients were fat while most of the yin deficiency type patients were thin. The body weight was influenced by the age and sex. 3. High levels of TC,TG, BMI could contribute to the ketosis in type 2 diabetes. 4. Levels of LDL-C were higher in most of the blood stasis type patients.5. The levels of blood glucose and ket were higher in blood stasis type patients.
