Objective: The study aims to evaluate the mid-long-term clinical efficacy of open-heart surgery combined with bipolar radiofrequency modified maze procedure. Methods: Research was performed in retrospective method review of patients experienced open-heart surgery combined with bipolar radiofrequency modified maze procedure from 2012 to 2014 at First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University. We collected the electrocardiogram(ECG) and Ultrasound Cardiogram(UCG) in perioperative period and after discharge to evaluate the mid-long-term clinical efficacy of the operation. Results: the duration of follow-up from 2.5-26.8 months, average is 13.4±6.35 months. There were 64 total patients, 9 patients lost to follow up in this study, the follow-up rate is 85.94%. The Atrial fibrillation cardioversion from CCU, after discharge, 3 months after operation and the last follow-up respectively are 81.25%(52/64),50.00%(32/64),66.13%(41/62),72.72%(40/55). The left atrial diameter measured in UCG is 57.10±7.27 mm,49.24±8.27 mm, 44.07±5.41 mm, 43.71±6.18 mm from pre-operation, post-operation, 3 months after operation and the last follow up respectively. The NYHA cardiac function grading before operation is grade I-II:1,grade II:19,grade III:40,grade IV:4,and after operation is grade I-II: 48,grade II: 5,grade III: 2,the mortality rate is 0.Conclusion: The mid-and-long clinical efficacy of open-heart procedure combined with bipolar radiofrequency modified Maze procedure is well.
