Objective:To analyze the related factors which lead to pharyngocutaneous fistula after hypopharyngeal carcinoma surgery.Method:To retrospectively analyze the complete clinical data of 91 patients undergo hypopharyngeal carcinoma surgery from January 2000 to December 2012 in the Tumor Hospital of GuangXi Medical University. To explore the relationship between pharyngocutaneous fistula and the factors of T-stage, N-stage, primary tumor site, pre-operative tracheotomy, pre-operative radiotherapy, whether total laryngectomy, intra-operative blood transfusion, operative duration, local infection, Skin flap to repair with Single-factor analysis and logistics analysis.Result:Among the 91 cases of carcinoma, the rate of post-operative pharyngocutaneous fistula is 19.8%(18/91). Single-factor analysis showed that factors related to the occurrence rate of pharyngocutaneous fistula included T-stage, whether total laryngectomy, operative duration, local infection, Skin flap to repair. Logistics analysis indicated that the T-stage and local infection were the independent risk factors. Conclusion:Late clinical stage, total laryngectomy, operative duration, local infection, Skin flap to repair are risk factors of pharyngocutaneous fistula after hypopharyngeal carcinoma surgery. Among them, T-stage and local infection were the independent risk factors.Avoid risk factors is key to preventing the pharyngocutaneous fistula occurred after hypopharyngeal carcinoma surgery.
