Objective:Discussed the application and significance of the subjective and objective assessment in the diagnosis and treatment of children with OSDB by OSA-18 questionnaire and PSG detection. Methods:Children’s OSAHS disease specific quality of living survey scale (OSA-18) method and PSG method were used to detect 129 OSDB patients with tonsil and/or adenoid hypertrophy before and after surgery(Subjective group of 42 cases only require OSA-18 scaling, objective group of 87 cases require both PSG detection and the OSA-18 scaling), based on the difference before and after surgery in patients with the quality of life of the affected degree and change, combined with the relationship between the OSA-18 score and PSG detection, evaluation the significance of subjective and objective assessment in the diagnosis and treatment of OSDB in children patients. Results:Before surgery the OSA-18 total score of subjective group was 76.60±12.99, while the objective group was 78.26±11.62, P=0.463> 0.05, both of two groups have no difference in the influence of preoperative quality of life. The OSA-18 scores of preoperative patient were increased with obstruction degree (AHI) increased and hypoxia degree (LSaO2) aggravated, P were 0.025 and 0.013. In 87 preoperative patients of objective group, the OSA-18 scores and AHI had a positive correlation, which correlation coefficient was 0.276 (P= 0.010); while the OSA-18 scores and LSaO2 had a negative correlation, which correlation coefficient was-0.278 (P=0.009). The evaluation of the postoperative efficacy of the subjective and objective group shows:both were significantly improved, postoperative OSA-18 score was 47.57±10.77 and 46.37±11.92, P=0.611>0.05, no statistically significant. The efficacy of objective group shows:before surgery the obstruction degree is heavier, the OSA-18 score after surgery tends to have a higher score; while before surgery the hypoxia degree is heavier, the OSA-18 score after surgery tends to have a lower score.Conclusion:OSA-18 scaling method can better reflect the children OSDB patient’s quality of life, the severity of OSA-18 score and PSG represent consistency and relevance. PSG detection for surgical indications selection in children OSDB patients should not be necessary. OSA-18 scaling method and PSG detection have a complementary role in the diagnosis and treatment assessment of children OSDB patients.
