Objective:To observe the clinical curative effect on post-stroke depression and the change of homocysteine levels, and preliminary discuss the possible mechanism.Method:60 cases of patients matched with the inclusion criteria with post-stroke depression were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,59 cases accomplish finally. Among which 30 patients were regarded as treatment group, treated by the foundation treatment plus acupuncture, once a day, treatment in 6 days then rest 1 day, a total of 6 week; Another 29 cases as control group was treated by the foundation treatment plus fluoxetine, 20mg one time, once a day for 6 week. The degree of depression in the two groups of patients was assessed by HAMD, the degree of neurologic impairment was assessed by MSSS, the daily life activities ability was assessed by BI, the Hcy content in plasma was tested before and after treatment respectively, after that curative effect was statistical analyzed.Results:1.The HAMD total score after treatment were obviously decreased in comparison with those before treatment in both groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the reduction range in the two groups was similar and there was no statistically difference (P>0.05).2.The MSSS score after treatment were obviously decreased in comparison with those before treatment in both groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the treatment group was increased more obviously than the control group and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).3.The BI score after treatment were obviously increased in comparison with those before treatment in both groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the treatment group was increased more obviously than the control group and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).4.The content of Hcy in plasma after treatment were obviously decreased in comparison with those before treatment in both groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the treatment group was decreased more obviously than the control group and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture treatment has obvious therapeutic effect on patients with post-stroke depression, it can improve the state of depression in patients with PSD, meanwhile, it can can promote the recovery of nerve function and improve the ability of daily life of daily life. The mechanism may be related to regulating the metabolism of homocysteine content in plasma.
