Objective:The relationship between the infection of human papillomavirus(HPV)and the incidence of epithelial ovarian carcinoma(EOC)was investigated combined with clinical data. Then statistic analysis was carried out so as to provide new thinking and reference for early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of EOC.Methods: The case-control study was used in this research 620 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded(FFPE)ovarian tissues was divided into three groups, among which 322 patients have developed with EOC(Group M), 99 patients with benign epithelial ovarian tumors(Group B), and 199 patients with normal ovary(Group N). DNA was abstracted form each sample and tested by the ultraviolet spectrophotometer in order to ensure the quantity and purity of them. The target fragment was amplified by the PCR and the products were electrophoresised and sequenced. Conducting ANOVA, chi-square test, correlation analysis between the definition of different variables can be clarified, and logistic regression analysis was used to find the protect factor and the high-risk factors of the EOC.Results:The results indicate that there is no significant difference between the positive rates of HPV18 and HPV33 in group M and group B respectively(HPV18: 2?=0.180,0.672,HPV33: 2?=2.904, P=0.088). But the positive rate of those two types of HPV DNA are significantly higher than that in group N. It can also be found that the pregnancy is one of the protective factors of EOC while family history of malignant tumor and abortion are the risk factors of EOC. The detecting of CA125 is a method to distinguish benign from malignant tumors of the ovary, but the testing value of it cannot be used to reveal the severity of EOC.Conclusion:The infection of HPV18 and HPV33 probably related to both the benign and the malignant tumors of the ovary. Compare to the normal healthy, high risks of the EOC exist in those who have family history of malignant tumor or had abortion and should attach great importance to the prevention of EOC, especially preventing the infection of HPV and avoiding the abortion as much as possible. For the women with advanced age, the CA125 is suggested to be test periodically.
