ObjectiveThrough the study on carotid artery intima-media thickness and serum C peptide in the ischemic cerebral vascular disease patients with non- diabetic,to explore the relationship between ischemic cerebrovascular disease in the level of serum C peptide in the non diabetic patients and carotid artery intima-media thickness. MethodFrom 2013 September to 2014 April were in the people’s Hospital of Dong’e of all non-diabetes patients with ischemic cerebral vascular disease in 115 cases, Including male 56 cases, female 59 cases, age of the patients ranged from 49 to 71 years, mean age 64.2 ± 8.9 years old. Ischemic cerebral vascular disease include transient ischemic attack and cerebral Infarction, transient ischemic attack is caused by intracranial arterial lesions in temporary or transient, focal cerebral or retinal dysfunction, clinical symptoms usually last for 10 to 15 minutes, and usually back in 1 hours, no more than 24 hours. No legacyneurological symptoms and signs, imaging(CT,MRI) check no responsible foci. cerebral Infarction means the brain blood circulation disorder, and cerebral ischemia, hypoxia induced ischemic necrosis or softening. All patients with TIA and cerebral Infarction, and the exclusion of greater than 80 years of age, diabetes, cerebral hemorrhage; malignant tumor, in the past two month in operation and serious trauma disease, serious heart and lung and kidney of diseases, serious infectious diseases, autoimmune disease, carbon monoxide poisoning, hypnotic poisoning, pesticide poisoning patients, all patients by more than5 years work experience of physicians to measure carotid intima-media thickness, and were divided into three groups according to the intima media thickness, patients were detected fasting serum examination, and statistics of all patients with sex, age, smoking and drinking situati on, seru m C-pep tide, blood homocysteine(Hcy), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), atrial fibrillation, the classification of hyper tension, carotid artery intima-media thickness; the clinical data and C peptide levels were compared between the three groups, using statistical analysis in ischemic cerebrovascular disease and non diabetic patients serum C peptide with carotid artery intima thickness.Data were analyzed using SPSS 18 software, measurement data using mean + standard deviation said, by two independent samples t test statistical analysis between the two groups were compared, analysis of variance was used to compare groups of between group mean pairwise comparisons. The four chi square test statistic analysis between group comparison of proportion. The rank correlation analysis on the correlation between the index was statistically analyzed, using regression analysis to explore the influencing factors of C peptide content. Test level a=0.05, P≤0.05 showed a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Result1.Between the three groups of CIMT with age、 LDL、 HDL、C peptide and the comparison of Hcy index :Groups CIMT<0.9mm, 0.9 ≤ CIMT<1.1mm, CIMT ≥ 1.1mm in age group had significant difference(P < 0.05); carotid artery intima-media thickness increased with the increase of age,Groups CIMT<0.9mm, 0.9 ≤ CIMT< 1.1mm Hcy was CIMT ≥ 1.1mm Hcy decreased significantly, there was significant difference((P<0.05); In the three CIMT groups the C-peptide, LDL, HDL differenc es we re not statistically significant(P>0.05).2.The relationship between gender and CIMT groups: At CIMT < 0.9 mm and CIMT≥1.1mm groups, female account for high proportion than men,At 0.9 ≤ CIMT<1.1mm groups men account for high proportion, In different gender CIMT difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).3.Between different gender and C peptide, LDL, HDL, Hcy index comparison:Different sex, women mean LDL than men mean LDL was higher, there was significant statistically difference(P < 0.05); But as a result of both mean differences were within the normal range, there was no clinical significance difference; Different genders, there was no statistical significance in Hcy、C peptide and HDL indexes(P>0.05).4.Smoking and C peptide, LDL, HDL, Hcy index comparison:No smokers had higher LDL than smokers, there was significant difference(P < 0.05), But as a result of both mean differences were within the normal range, there was no clinical significance difference;there were no tatistical significance in the C peptide, HDL, Hcy aspects(P>0.05).5.Drinking and C peptide, LDL, HDL, Hcy index comparison:No drinkers compared drinkers lower Hcy, there was significant difference(P < 0.05), there were no statistical significance in the C peptide, HDL, LDL aspects(P>0.05).6.Atrial fibrillation with age, C peptide, LDL, HDL, Hcy index comparison: In patients with and without atrial fibrillation, there were no significant difference in age、Hcy、C peptide, LDL, HDL aspects(P>0.05);7. High blood pressure classification and age, C peptide, LDL, HDL, Hcy index comparison: HDL mean of 1 level was lower than 2 level and without hypertension, there was significant difference(P < 0.05), there were no significant difference in age, C peptide, LDL, Hcy aspects(P>0.05).8. The serum C peptide was a negative correlation with carotid artery intima media thickness(R=-0.273, P = 0.003), but no correlation between the object of study in serum C peptide levels and LDL, HDL, Hcy.9.Except for age, C peptide, LDL, HDL, Hcy four indicators were entered into the regression equation, the Hcy P value was 0.038, a linear regression relationship with carotid intima-media thickness, C peptide,LDL, HDL and carotid artery intima-media thickness were no linear regression correlation. ConclusionIn ischemic cerebrovascular disease, serum C peptide can reduce the carotid artery intima-media thickness in non diabetic patients,It show that C peptide may play a protective role.in the occurrence and development of carotid atherosclerosis.
