Objective1. To observe the efficacy and superiority of the moxibustion treatment for sub health state and to investigate its possible mechanism.2. To compare the effects of different moxibustion quantities on the treatment for sub health state, to select a better moxibustion quantity plan for the treatment of sub-health state, and to discuss its dose-effect relationship.Methods144 sub healthy patients meeting the diagnostic and inclusion criteria were selected and were then divided into the moxibustion group(mild moxibustion group I, mild moxibustion group II and mild moxibustion group III) and the medicine group, with 36 patients of each group. After the operation training of mild moxibustion, patients of four groups were given self-treatments. Mild moxibustion group I: To take Guanyuan(CV4),Zusanli(ST36)(bilateral), Sanyinjiao(SP)(bilateral); to ignite one end of the moxa stick and then to cauterize 3 ~ 4cm away from the skin at the moxibustion acupoint. When patients have tepid feelings other than burning ones on their local skins, the moxibustion is appropriate. It is done for 10 minutes with the flushing skin at each acupoint one time each day. Continuous moxibustions for 1 month is a treatment course,2 treatment courses are needed. Mild moxibustion group II: the acupoints and operations are similar to group I. The moxibustion is done every other day and the treatment course is the same with group I. Mild moxibustion group III: the acupoints and operations are similar to group I. The moxibustion is done weekly and the treatment course is the same with group I. The medicine group: to give Yupingfeng Granule orally5 g each time, two times a day. The treatment course is the same with group I. To detect Ig A, Ig M and Ig G, superoxide dismutase(SOD) and the nail fold microcirculationbefore and after the treatment, to record FS-14, sub health symptom score scale respectively and then to make a statistical analysis.Results1. The study on the effect of mild moxibustion on sub healthy state(compare mild moxibustion group I with the medicine group)(1) The overall curative effects: the effective rate of mild moxibustion group I is87.88%, and the effective rate of the medicine group is 70%. The comparison of the two groups was not statistically different(P>0.05).(2) Serum immunoglobulin and SOD: the two groups are compared before and after t reatment respectively. After the treatment, immunoglobulin Ig A, Ig M, Ig G and SOD all increase, with statistical differences(P <0.05); While comparing Ig A and Ig M between the two groups after treatment, mild moxibustion groups rises higher than the medicine group, with statistical differences(P <0.05); While comparing Ig G and SOD between the two groups after treatment, mild moxibustion group I rises slightly higher than the medicine group, without statistical differences(P> 0.05).(3) FS-14: A comparison before and after treatment of the two groups shows the scores decrease after treatment, with statistical differences(P <0.05); A comparison of the two groups after treatment shows mild moxibustion group I declines more than the medicine group, with statistical difference(P < 0.05).(4) Nail fold microcirculation detection: before and after treatment, the indicators of the two groups, such as nail fold microcirculation clarity, pipe loop density, pipe loop crossing number, the number of pipe loops deformity, diameter of input and output pipe loop, length of pipe loop, flow velocity of pipe loop, erythrocyte aggregation degree,exudation and hemorrhage of loop, vascular plexus and so on, all have changed. Theoverall improvement of Moxibustion groups is better than that of the medication group.2. A study on the efficacy of different moxibustion dosages(mild moxibustion group I,II and III) on sub-health state.(1) The overall curative effects: the effective rate of mild moxibustion group I is87.88%, the effective rate of mild moxibustion group II is 84.85%, and the effective rate of mild moxibustion group III is 34.29%. Pairwise comparisons among the three groups show that the comparison of mild moxibustion group I and mild moxibustion group II does not have a statistically significant difference(P> 0.05), and the comparison of mild moxibustion group I as well as mild moxibustion group II and moxibustion group III respectively has a statistically significant difference( P <0.05).(2) Serum immunoglobulin and SOD: the three groups are compared before and after treatment respectively. After treatment, Ig A, Ig M, Ig G and SOD of mild moxibustion group I and II all increase, with statistical differences(P <0.05), whereas those of mild moxibustion group III do not have an obvious increase, without statistical differences(P >0.05). Pairwise comparisons among the three groups show that the comparison of mild moxibustion group I and mild moxibustion group II does not have a statistically significant difference(P> 0.05), and the comparison of mild moxibustion group I as well as mild moxibustion group II and mild moxibustion group III respectively has a statistically significant difference( P <0.05).(Except that the comparison of Ig M does not have statistically significant differences after the treatment of mild moxibustion group I and II).(3) FS-14: A comparison among the 3 groups before and after treatment shows that the scores of mild moxibustion group I and II both decrease after treatment, with statistical differences(P <0.05); and that the score of mild moxibustion group III does not have an obvious decrease after treatment, without statistical differences(P >0.05). Pairwise comparisons after treatment among the three groups show that the comparison of mildmoxibustion group I and mild moxibustion group II does not have a statistically significant difference(P>0.05), and the comparison of mild moxibustion group I and mild moxibustion group II with mild moxibustion group III respectively has a statistically significant difference( P <0.05).(4) The nail fold microcirculation detection: A comparison of all indicators of the nail fold microcirculation detection before and after treatment in 3 groups shows that mild moxibustion group I and group II have both improved, and mild moxibustion group III does not have obvious improvements.Conclusion1. The mild moxibustion can enhance the Ig A, Ig M, Ig G and SOD of patients who are sub-healthy, and improve the fatigue state and microcirculation.2. The efficacy of mild moxibustion treatment for sub healthy state is related to the moxibustion quantity. The efficacy of daily moxibustion is similar to that of moxibustion every other day, and they are both superior to moxibustion weekly.
