Yinzhihuang is a compound traditional medicine composed of Artemisise capillaries, Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi,Gardenia jasminoides Ellis and Lonicera japonica. Its major functions are detoxication, heat-clearing, promoting retreating jaundice and urination. It is mainly used for the syndrome of hepatochlic hygropyrexia, such as acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis and severe hepatitis.Currently, in the market, the main formulations of Yinzhihuang are oral liquid, injection, capsule and granule type, which are extracts of these four medicines. Most research on Yinzhihuang are focused on the formulations. It is not clear whether the contents of the chemical constituents are the same among extracts made from boiling the individual herbal medicines and from boiling Yinzhihuang compound medicine. Objective:To determine the contents of the constituents of water extracts of Yinzhihuang compound medicine and single herbs. Method:using UHPLC-MS method to quantify and compare the bioactive constituents, such as baicalin, chlorogenic acid and other 7 constituents in the extracts of Yinzhihuang and the four composed single herb drugs. Results:The contentsof chlorogenic acid, baicalein, baicalin,3,4-dicaffeoylquinic acid,3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid and 4,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid in Yinzhihuang and its component herbs were quantified by HPLC. The results of quantitative analysis indicated that the contents of these chemical constituents in the extracts of single herb drugs was similar or higher than the Yinzhihuang extract. Conclusion:The contents of the chemical constituents in the water extracts of individual herbal medicines were similar or higher than in the water extract of Yinzhihuang compound medicine. |
