ObjectiveThis study is an clinical retrospective study on group psychotherapy patients by statistical analysis methods. We can evaluate the efficacy of group psychotherapy for patients with personality disorders. We can also explore the factors affecting its efficacy, and evaluate the efficacy of group psychotherapy for personality disorders. The purpose of the study is to provide new methods of psychosomatic treatment for diseases. The relationship between personality and psychosomatic diseases will also be discussed. The possible relationship between personality and psychosomatic disease will be made. Through the perspective of psychological theory, we can explain the etiology and pathogenesis of physical illness, and provide new methods for predicting and preventing disease.MethodsPatients were selected from outpatient department of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of TCM, during May 2012 to March 2015. The personal information and medical records were collected. Patients were divided into two groups, one group was consist of patients who had been treated with group psychotherapy. The other group was control group. The MMPI and the SCL-90 were testede before and after the therapy. Microsoft Office Excel, SPSS Statistics 19.0 and SPSS Modeler 14.1 were used for data analysis.Conclusion1. Demographic data analysisThe majority of patients in group psychotherapy were 25 to 35 years old, unmarried, women, junior college or bachelor degree of education.2. Compared MMPI results with the national normCompared with the national norm,the MMPI score in patients with psychological treatment have significant difference in L, Hs, D, Hy, Pd, Mf, Pa, Pt, Sc, Si dimensions3. The constituents of psychosomatic diseaseAmong patients with group psychotherapy,40.49% patients had urogenital system diseases,33.80% had digestive system diseases.4. The analysis of the relationship between demographic characteristics and personality characteristicsMMPI scoreshad no correlation with gender, education level.But multiple scale score increaseed with the age.5. Group psychotherapy efficacy evaluationAfter the Group psychotherapy,MMPI and SCL-90 score were significantly improved. Group psychological therapy can effectively improve the personality deviation and psychological symptoms.6. Curative effect factors of group psychotherapyThe improvement of MMPI score was no significant correlation with age, sex. The higher the degree of education, the improvement of the group psychological therapy after personality degree is higher. Married patients were possibly easier to improve social introversion. Women can have greater degree of improvement with depressive symptoms.7. MMPI score between 10-time and 20-time group psychotherapyThe improvement of MMPI is not statistically significant between the two groups.8. Parent relation and marriage relationRearing patterns of parents were generally not ideal.Parents usually express less warmth and understanding, excessive interference, excessive protection of parenting style. But express punishment, rejection, denied more.Marriage relations were generally not ideal among patients.9. Relationship between personality traits and TCM constitution typePatients with group psychotherapy were mostly with Qi depression,the correlation between Qi depression and Hy, D, Pt dimensions of personality characteristics was founded.10. The improvement of MMPI in control groupDrug therapy and physical therapy can also improve the personality deviationto a certain extent.11. Patients who refused to accept group psychotherapyMost patients refused to take part in group psychotherapy because of limited time, place. Some of the patients deny their own psychological problems and refuse to take part in group therapy.12. The relationship between personality traits and psychosomatic diseaseThe higher the score of Ma, Sc, Hs scale, the higher the prevalence of diseases of the digestive system. The higher the score of Ma, Pt, Hy scale, the higher the prevalence of diseases of the urogenital system.
