Object Insulin resistance is the core of the pathological basis of the metabolic syndrome, pancreatic β-cell function is impaired insulin secretion, glucose metabolism disorder caused by the basic reasons.The relationship between islet a cells function and abnormal glucose metabolism are also increasing attention.Presence or absence of a direct correlation between the function of insulin resistance and isletα cells, improve insulin resistance can improve glucagon secretion is not yet clear.This study proposed the use of metformin and pioglitazone treatment of patients with diabetes of the metabolic syndrome, observation after improve insulin sensitivity, whetherislet a cells function can improve.Motheds:According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,select between April 2012 to April 2013, Chaoyang District Center for treatment or physical examination of diabetic,60 cases of patients with diabetes of metabolic syndrome were selected as the medicine intervention group and 40 healthy individuals as control group. The drug intervention group was divided into two subgroups Randomly. One subgroup was given metformin and one was pioglitazone. One year after treatment intervention,observation and analysis of baseline information drug intervention and control groups were done, the main risk factors for metabolic syndrome, as well as the two treatment groups before and after treatment of blood glucose, blood lipids, insulin secretion, insulin sensitivity index, glucagon and other indicators.Results:Baseline data show that the main risk factors of metabolic syndrome was history of hypertension and diabetes; Metformin and pioglitazone could reduce the level of fasting blood glucose, insulin and glucagon, the difference before and after treatment was statistically significant (p<0.05). The improvement of metformin on blood lipids was significant, there were significant differences between before and after treatment (p<0.05); but the pioglitazone on triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) improvement was not obvious, no statistical difference before and after treatment (p>0.05). In the aspect of isletacells, βcell Secretory function improvements, effect of the two drugs before and after treatment was obvious.The increasing effect of insulin sensitivity and insulin sensitivity in pioglitazone group were better than metformin group before and after drug treatment.Conclusion:The fasting blood glucose, insulin and glucagon were decreased, insulin sensitivity was increased, islet αcells,βcell secretory function was improved in the drug intervention group after treatment.
