With the continuing development of social economy, the fast advancing of internalization and the increasing intensity of market competition, the system reform of medical science is continuously deepening. In order to meet the people’s needs for medical science service better, most of the hospitals also make some adjustments and reforms. Under the complicated surrounding, the hospitals have to put emphasis on the longing stability and development so that they can survive the intense competition. After the development and expansion of forty years,Deyang XX hospital has been improved in the size and level of medical science. The social and economical benefits have been achieved to some extent. However, with the increasing intensity of market competition in medical science, the destruction of 2008 earthquake bringing and the new environment of relocation bringing, the development of Deyang XX hospital was brought up attention by people. The better development of this hospital is worth our deep thinking.By sending questionnaire for staffs in this hospital, the macro surrounding was analyzed by using PEST method and the industry surrounding was analyzed by using Michael Porter Five Forces Model with the guidance of theory for strategic management. The inside surrounding of this hospital was analyzed with regard to resource surroundings, human resources, finance ability, management ability, the ability of market sales and core competition. Combined with the inside and outside surroundings, the SWOT analysis was used to find out the advantages, disadvantages, chances and challenges of this hospital. The SO development strategy is chosen by analyzing the development strategy of SO, WO, ST and so on. At last, put forward concrete strategy implementation strategy.This thesis is divided into six chapters. For chapter one, the backgrounds and meanings of this project together with the methods and goals of this research are brought up. For chapter two, the strategic management is summarized. For chapter three, the outside surroundings of Deyang XX hospital are analyzed. For chapter four, the inside surroundings of Deyang XX hospital are analyzed. For chapter five, the strategies are made and implemented by using SWOT analysis. For chapter six, the concretely implemented strategies are brought up.This thesis can guide the management of hospitals by researching the development strategy of Deyang XX hospital to some extent. At the same time, the research for this project can be helpful for the business and management of other hospitals.
