Objective:To evaluate The curative effect of treatment of Axillary osmidrosis by operate suction curettage combined with suture in situ and povidone iodine infusion. Methods:Fifteen axillary osmidrosis patiens, including three males and 12 females, undergoing suction curettage combined with suture in situ and povidone iodine infusion treatment from April 2014 to October 2014 were recruited as the treatment group.Forty-three axillary osmidrosis patiens, including seven males and thirty-six females, received suction curettage combined with suture in situ without povidone iodine infusion treatment were recuited as the control group. The tissue from suction curettage and Axillary region skin and subcutaneous tissue from five cases were collected to observe subsequent to Hematoxylin-Eosin staining. All patients were followed for a minimum of 6 months.Compared the results of malodor elimination and the surgical complications between pre-operation and post-operation of two groups.Results:43 patiens (86 axllae) operated in the control group(Z=-11.112, P=0.000<0.05) and 15 patiens (30 axllae) in the povidone iodine infusion group (Z=-7.027, P=0.000<0.05) reduced the malodor compared with pre-operation.But there was no significant difference between the two groups after 6 months (Z=-1.616,P=0.106>0.05).The complication rate was significantly lower in the povidone iodine infusion group than in the control group (X2=4.417,P=0.036<0.05). Histological observation of absorption before scraping skin biopsy showed a large number of large sweat gland tissue which located in the fat tissues of dermis reticular layer and axillary shallow superficial fascia. big sweat gland tissue residues disappeared in skin tissue after suction curettage compared with pre-operation.Conclutions:The suction curettage combined with suture in situ and povidone iodine infusion is a minimally-invasive and ecffective treatment. The axillary osmidrosis patiens with the treatment achieved optimum results by removing apocrine sweat gland effectively and showed a low level of complications.
