Objective: Osteoporosis is a commonly and frequently occurring disease which affect the life quality of elderly people seriously. Along with the growing population of elderly in China, osteoporosis has been attracted more attention.In addition, there are many different theory on the prevention and treatment in the foreign and at home, which has their own advantages and disadvantages.However, Chinese medicine treatment of osteoporosis have the certain advantages that many patients symptoms has been brought into sharp relief after selecting this therapy. In this study, we use Bushen Huoxue Recipe(BHR) to detect the clinical outcomes in elderly female with osteoporosis.Methods: 120 female elderly patients who were hospitalized from February 2013 to October 2014 with osteoporosis which diagnosed by bone density examination were included in this study. On the basis of treatment successively and random number table method, the patients were divided into observation group(n=60) and control group(n=60), which administrated by Caltrate D(2 tablets / day) and BHR plus Caltrate D(take orally), respectively. The composition of BHR: Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata 30 g,Dogwood 12 g,Epimedium 12 g,Tu-chung 12 g,Semen cuscutae 12 g,Spatholobus suberctu 30 g,Salvia 30 g,Dipsacus asperoids 15 g,Antler gum 15 g,Drynaria rhizome 15 g,Chinese yam 15 g,Angelica sinensis 15 g,Achyranthes bidentata 15 g,Rhizoma chuanxiong 15 g,Angelica pubescens 10 g,Hirudo 10 g,Rhizoma alismatis 10 g,Radix glycyrrhizae preparata 6g,decoction,an agent each day,provided by the hospital pharmacy.After 3 courses of treatment, the symptoms of patients before and after treatment were compared using NRS score. Measurement the bone mineral density in lumbar and the greater trochanter of the femur using by mineral density instrument as well as Estradiol(E2) level using by Chemiluminescence method before and after treatment, respectively. Observe and record the test results. Recorded timely if any adverse reactions occur. Statistical analysis: the datas of two groups were analyzed statistically on the SPSS v13.0, using mean and standard deviation to describe the data. All data were underwent the normality and homogeneity of variance test. The data with homogeneity of variance were performed by t-test,otherwise performed by t’-test. The Statistical standard was 0.05.The enumeration data were performed by χ2-test.Result:1 The age, body weight and postmenopausal years between two groups had no significant difference before treatment(P>0.05).2 The bone mineral density, Estradiol(E2) level and NRS scores between two groups had no significant difference before treatment(P>0.05).3 The Estradiol(E2) level in observation group(17.00±7.32 ng/m L) and control group(14.50±6.54 ng/m L)after treatment were improve obviously( P<0.05).4 The Bone Mineral Density of the observation group(-2.09±0.64g/cm2) and control group(-2.25±0.62g/cm2) after treatment has significant difference( P<0.05).5 The NRS scores between the observation group(4.42±1.04) and control group(4.96±1.02)after treatment has significant difference( P<0.05).6 Two groups had not appear any adverse reactions during experiment.Conclusion:1 BHR can improve the bone mineral density obviously in female elderly patients with osteoporosis.2 BHR can improve the Estradiol(E2) level in female elderly patients with osteoporosis.3 BHR can improve the clinical outcomes effectively in female elderly patients with osteoporosis.
