Objective To evaluate the clinical effect and influence factors of plasma exchangetreatment for liver failure. Methods A retrospective analysis 90 cases of liver failure patients with plasma exchange from January 2012 to September 2014. Clinical symptoms, improvement of complications, changes in liver function markers were observed after plasma exchange, and the influential factors for treatment efficacy were analyzed. Experimental data were expressed x±S, measurement data were using T test. Significance was assessed with chi-square tests or Fisher’s exact test. A p-value of <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results After plasma exchange, patients clinical symptoms improved obviously,ALT(before 494.78 ± 706.03 U / L after 100.12 ± 136.62 U / L), AST(before 362.23 ± 353.98 U / L after 99.46 ± 71.95 U / L), TBil(before 465.90 ± 126.26μmol / L after 263.35 ± 146.41μmol / L) were lower(P <0.05). CHE(before 3421.87 ± 1354.15 U / L after 5587.21 ± 759.02 U / L), PTA(before34.55 ± 12.84% after 61.02 ± 28.64%) were increased(P <0.05). 90 cases of patients with plasma exchange treated for 274 cases, including ten cases of adverse reactions, the overall incidence was 3.6%, giveing symptomatic treatment and completed all the procedure; 63 cases were effective in that patients, 27 patients were invalid, the total efficiency was 70%.Conclusion Plasma exchange technique has important value in the treatment of liver failure, it is a safe and effective treatment for liver failure. Onset age, clinical stage, the presence of cirrhosis, complications, pretreatment serum TBil, CHE, PTA levels are the influence factors of plasma exchange treatment for liver failure.
